This is one of a series of articles spotlighting our storage facilities and neighborhoods.
Maywood is located about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. It was the home of the 33rd Tank Company, and the 122 men trained there were sent overseas during World War II as part of the 192nd Tank Battalion. Following the war, the village was dubbed "The Village of Eternal Light" by Congress to commemorate the Maywood soldiers who fell during the "Bataan Death March" while serving.
Today, Maywood is home to over 30,000 people and growing. The local government and police department work together to promote a safe, family-friendly community where they teach children safety at school through project "Operation Safe Child".
Our CubeSmart Self Storage Facility in Maywood is around the corner from the Maywood Police Department and across the tracks from McDonald's. The facility is easily accessible by public transportation, with Metra stopping two blocks from the store and Pace buses stopping just one block away. Selling all sorts of packing supplies, like boxes, tape, and locks, this one-stop shop makes your move-in process go as smoothly as possible.
Local Customers are Saying:
"Great customer service and storage set up was easy. Agent was able to answer all of my questions and provide a tour of the facility even though I arrived 5 minutes before closing time!! Clean facility and I am pleased with the security provided."

Tucked away in a small corner of a gas station next to our facility is a highly recommended spot for Mexican food. Offering tacos, tortas, and burritos, Carnitas Don Alfredo is known for their fresh ingredients, quality, and cheap food. It's a great spot to grab a quick bite while on the way to your storage unit.

For a bit of peace and tranquility after a move, go over to the Trailside Museum of Natural History. It is the first public nature education facility in Cook County and is appropriate for people of all ages. There are educational camps hosted by the museum and trails for hiking. The museum is easily accessible by walking, biking, driving, or public transport.
