Inside the Scents of Terry Culver

CubeSmart Customer Story Peachtree Corners GA - Terry Culver

This is one of a series of stories we are sharing to show what's inside CubeSmart. You not only get a peek inside our customer's storage unit, but also a peek inside what is important to them. Thank you to Terry, a customer of our CubeSmart store in Peachtree Corners, for sharing her story with us.

Terry does something that a lot of people might envy. Her life is a series of Renaissance festivals across the southeastern United States where she is not only a theme character actor, she sells some of the most amazing smelling essential oils and other items.

When most people think of renaissance festivals, we tend to think of jousting and turkey legs. For a small portion of the population, ren fests are life. Terry has been the village apothecary at the Georgia Renaissance Festival since 1989, selling her favorite essential oils and custom scents. She enjoys dressing in character as much as creating new signature scents with essential oils.

Terry is what is called a super nose. She can smell the ingredients in scents much more than most people. Terry has a high demand for signature scents. She has customers all around the US who request the scents she creates. She keeps a scent profile on each of her customers, and all of this is stored in her climate-controlled storage unit along with her mixing station and oils. She was visiting her storage unit today to mix a scent for a customer who had just run out. She was excited because it was a scent that she really enjoys creating, partly because she personally loves the smell.

Terry became part of the CubeSmart family in Peachtree Corners, GA just this year. The last storage place she used increased their rates and told in her in a letter, so she decided to move for a more personalized experience. Terry loves the location as well as all of the people she's met. She and CubeSmart Manager Angela spent a few minutes discussing her latest festival and chatting about the hot weather. You could tell she was comfortable there and felt welcome.

"For me, it's about people. If I feel valued, I will keep coming back and tell every single person I know to come here, too. If I feel like a number or any other customer, I may or may not return. Angela has this community of people here and we are like a family."

"The team here created this atmosphere that makes me want to stop by and say hello. I feel like I am part of a community."

We'd love to hear how self storage has positively impacted your life. Share your #HumansofSelfStorage story in the comments.
