This is one of a series of articles spotlighting our storage facilities and neighborhoods.
Sitting on the west coast of Lake Michigan, the city of Evanston, Illinois, draws people from all over the world for school and residency close to Chicago. Only 12 miles from Downtown Chicago, Evanston is a middle ground for big city life and small town living.
Over the next twenty years, the population is projected to grow by as much as 16%. The city draws in both college students and professors, as well as people looking to live within a commuting distance of Chicago. Home to Northwestern University, ranked number twelve in 2017's Best Colleges list by US News, college students make up about ten percent of the population of the city.
Just ten minutes away from Northwestern's campus is our CubeSmart Self Storage Facility in Evanston. It’s a convenient location for people looking to store items as they move into the city, and for college students who don't want to lug the contents of their dorm room home for the summer. Our managers are there to help you find the unit best suited to your storage needs. With options available such as a free moving truck, simple moving labor, packing supplies available for purchase, and the ability to ship items to the store, your moving process will go as smoothly as possible. Our well-lit facility also has 24-hour video recording and faxing if you need it.
Take a Tour of the Facility:
CubeSmart Evanston is located behind Dunkin Donuts and across from the Quad Indoor Sports dome. It's also conveniently situated less than a block from a Pace bus stop, and ten blocks from the CTA red line, making it easy to access by both car and public transportation.

Reward yourself after a day of moving your things into storage with a delicious meal. Go to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria for a slice of famous Chicago deep-dish pizza. Another option is to head over to Superdawg Drive-In, which has been around since the 1940s, for sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs.
If you're new to the area, you'll want to check out the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market. It's open every Saturday between May and November and has been running for over forty years. Local vendors sell their goods alongside vendors from all over the Midwest. Kids who are ages 2 through 12 can become members of the "Spud Club" for free, which presents them with the opportunity to participate in farm-related activities throughout the season.

Pull your kayaks out of the nearby CubeSmart, and put them to use at one of the many beaches on the Lake Michigan shore. The City of Evanston has six beaches, and you can sail or just sit and enjoy the beach and calm water. All of the beaches are owned by the city, and require a day pass or season token for admission.
