This is one of a series of stories we are sharing to show what\u2019s inside CubeSmart. You not only get a peek inside our customer\u2019s storage unit, but also a peek inside what is important to them. Thank you to John Fryer, a customer of our CubeSmart store in Denver, Colorado., for sharing his story with us.<\/em><\/p>\n

John Fryer was in the business of dealing antiques, art, photography, and furniture for nearly his entire career. Now that he\u2019s retired, it maybe shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise that he\u2019s still at it \u2013 using our CubeSmart store in southeast Denver, Colorado<\/a> as his business base.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a CubeSmart customer on and off for a number of years,\u201d he tells us. \u201cI chose this location because it\u2019s climate-controlled and close to my house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, when you\u2019re storing mid-century modern and contemporary furniture and art bought at estate sales all over the region, it makes sense that convenience is incredibly important. Not to mention climate, given that Colorado\u2019s dry air already does a number on many types of wood.<\/p>\n

John is also very pleased with other aspects of his CubeSmart experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe peace of mind of having my stuff in a secure location has probably been the biggest benefit of using CubeSmart,\u201d John says. \u201cThat and the space allows me to carry a greater inventory than if I was storing it at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

John normally visits his CubeSmart store two or three times a week. In addition to unloading new finds, he also stages and photographs inventory in the spacious lobby area.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s clean and bright and the people who work here are always friendly,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

John uses the photographs he takes to advertise inventory on the Denver-area Craigslist. When someone is interested in a particular piece, he invites him or her to check out the item at the CubeSmart itself, which is equipped with 24-hour video monitoring and controlled access.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll meet them here and show them whatever they want to see,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s very convenient.\u201d<\/p>\n

When John isn\u2019t buying and selling design items, he spends time with his grandchildren, who range in age from four to 21. With three of the eight in the Denver area, it probably won\u2019t be too long until they\u2019re looking to Grandpa to help them find that special piece for their new homes. And when they do, chances are it will already be in storage at CubeSmart.<\/p>\n
