Thank you to Scott, a customer of our CubeSmart store in Lake Worth, for sharing his story with us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott Sheridan\u2019s an avid vintage car collector, thanks to his father. He inherited his first two vintage cars from him and now has five altogether. He uses two of them as his daily transportation and stores the others in his CubeSmart units located at 1900 6th Ave S, Lake Worth, FL 33461<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott grew up in Ohio, joining the military in\nhis 20\u2019s. He studied Industrial Design through specialized classes while he was\nthere, and went to Ohio State to study Advertising. Though he dropped out of\ncollege, he recently went to Northwood to finish his three remaining classes,\nand transfer the credits back to Ohio to complete his degree. He says he was\nmarried \u201cin the past,\u201d and is now estranged from his daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He left Ohio in 1980 to open up a new Palm\nBeach location, and never went back. He said Ohio was \u201clovely, but you can keep\nthe snow.\u201d Then in 2009, he was forced into retirement from banking when\nFidelity Federal bought Regents Bank based in Boca Raton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott now lives in a condo \u201cdown the block\u201d from CubeSmart, and can even walk to his units. One of his vintage cars is \u201cthe size of a boat,\u201d and requires one of the largest units on the lot. Fortunately, his larger unit has a front and rear door so he can drive in one and out the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also has a large record collection, which he selling off painfully slow. He says you can\u2019t sell them online for a good price because customers can be \u201cvery picky\u201d about the condition, so he sells them at shows and expos. He\u2019s also been a vendor at a nearby flea market on Red Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He suggested \u201ccars & coffee\u201d events for this location, because there are so many customers who store cars there and \u201cit would be nice to see what everyone\u2019s got.\u201d Scott rents several units here, each one storing one of his cars, as well as the records and other flea market items. \u201cIf you have space, you will fill it,\u201d he says with a laugh. He\u2019s also thankful to the manager who assisted him with getting one key to open all of his units so he wouldn’t need to \u201ccarry around so many keys.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott then pulls out his 1964 Corvette; his pride is obvious by the smile on his face and the way he talks about it. He decides that he\u2019s going to take this one out for a drive; slowly navigating the vehicle through the gate with the old engine blaring loudly and taking off with the wave of his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
