The answers included cities of all sizes, all over America, from Hawaii\nto New York. About a half-hour south of Nashville, Franklin has all the perks of \u201cMusic City,\u201d without the rising cost of living. Big acts play at the Franklin Theatre<\/strong>, but the local scene thrives, too. Find your new country favorites at Kimbro\u2019s Pickin\u2019 Parlor<\/strong>, catch jazz, blues, and rock at Gray\u2019s on Main<\/strong>, or head to Mockingbird Theater<\/strong> for the Sunday songwriter series. The skyrocketing jobs growth is powered by technology and financial services, and the median income is well above the national average. True, housing costs are high compared to the\nnational average, with a median home price of $533,100, but that\u2019s still well below its\ncoastal neighbors to the north and south. It\u2019s a small price to pay for the\nactive, coastal lifestyle: Hit the beach or the Oceanside Pier<\/strong>\nto watch surfers or get in on the action yourself. We don\u2019t know if it\u2019s that crisp mountain water or local ingredients, but the beer is downright delicious. Many\nclubs stay open\u2014and can serve alcohol\u2014until 5 a.m., and the downtown\nEntertainment District can even sell it 24 hours a day. Take advantage at E11even<\/strong>,\na 24-hour club, and party \u2018til sunup at neighboring Club Space<\/strong>, a\nlegendary spot that\u2019s had world-class DJs on the decks since 2003. But the\nparty doesn\u2019t stop when the sun rises\u2014there\u2019s plenty of daytime fun at Nikki\nBeach<\/strong>, known for its posh poolside vibes. Enjoy the wide-open\nspaces in Chugach State Park <\/strong>or take a solo road trip along the Seward\nHighway<\/strong>\u2014local shops like Big Ray\u2019s Outfitters<\/strong> have you covered for\nsupplies. Bonus: The government will literally pay you to live here. It\u2019s\ncalled a yearly Permanent Fund Dividend and in 2019 it was $1,606 per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are nine\u2014yes, nine\u2014Michelin-starred\nrestaurants, including the three-star Jo\u00ebl Robuchon Restaurant<\/strong>, from the\nchef who has earned the most Michelin stars, ever. There are plenty of cheap\neats here, too, like Viva Las Arepas<\/strong>\u2019 delicious pockets of cornmeal\ngoodness. But the truly great thing about Vegas is that you can eat whenever\nyou want: 24-hour options abound, from huge portions at Hash House A Go Go<\/strong>\nto live music and brunch at Freedom Beat<\/strong>. It\u2019s got a\nfriendly, supportive community, great schools, and plenty to do, especially\noutdoors. You\u2019re just an hour from the incredible skiing at Big Sky Resort<\/strong>,\nand you\u2019ve got hiking and trail running, fishing, river rafting and kayaking,\ncamping, mountain biking and more right in your backyard. Head to Madison\nRiver Tubing<\/strong> to raft like a local or get geared up for camping at Crazy\nMountain Outdoor Co<\/strong>. In Bozeman, you can always count on a friendly helping\nhand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20. Kansas City, Missouri<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

US News ranked it one of the best affordable places to live: With more than 2 million residents, it has a big-city feel but a small cost of living.
