A properly organized attic space\nis an amazing asset, whether you\u2019re looking to sell or commit to your forever\nhome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this guide, we share our top seven attic\norganization ideas, so you can really make the most of the extra space in your\nhome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Clear Out Your Attic <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First,\nyou\u2019ll need to give your cluttered attic space a good clear out \u2013 it\u2019s not the\nmost fun job, but it has to be done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Move\nout all the things you\u2019ve stored up there over the years, then sort through it,\ngetting rid of anything non-essential or no longer wanted. Donate items that\nare still in good condition to goodwill or list them on local online\nclassifieds to find them a new home. You might even be able to make a few bonus\ndollars from the things you\u2019re willing to part with.\n\nOnce you\u2019ve cleared out those old schoolbooks,\nmementos and kids\u2019 toys you\u2019ve been hoarding, you\u2019ll be left with the items you\nneed. \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Search for Pests and Rodents <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nwarm and cozy nooks of a cluttered attic space can unfortunately become a\nbreeding ground for pests and rodents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou don\u2019t spend a lot of time in your attic, pests may have made a home up\nthere without you realizing. Once you\u2019ve cleared your attic completely, give it\na good clean and check every corner for pests and rodents.\n\nIf you do need to call pest\ncontrol, it\u2019s a good idea to do this now while the space is empty. Try to split up items into categories, for example: have a box for shoes, a box for photographs and so on. Put Up Rails for Hanging Clothing <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Double\nyour closet space and make the most of your attic by installing rails to hang\nyour clothes. Keep your out-of-season wardrobe organized and out of sight in\nyour attic until the winter or summer months come around again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bulky coats and jumpers can take up a lot of space in a wardrobe, so using rails allows you to keep your cozier clothing in good condition and ready to wear once it\u2019s cold again.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Add Shelving or Racks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Putting up shelving units or racks is an amazing way to make use of the space in your attic.
