I have been a customer and rented a unit since April of 2019. Called to cancel my rental in early September 2023 before my bill was due in the middle of the month. CubeSmart wasn’t very responsive making it difficult to actually cancel (thought the call was enough but received messages weeks later saying they cannot cancel due to some policy or whatever), and the company still continues to charge me monthly to this day ($1,410 as of January 2024). CubeSmart is absolutely not customer-oriented.

This is the worst storage facility. In a constant state of disrepair where one of the main doors is broken. This has been the case since 2017 when we first began renting a unit there. They repeatedly raised the rent at very high percentages on our account nearly every 6 months claiming it was a “market rate adjustment” until I reported this practice to the better business bureau. The rates increase by exorbitant percentages. Recently, we moved our belongings out of the facility, only to discover rodent droppings all over the unit. The office advised us to reach out to file an insurance claim, however any damage due to rodents is conveniently not covered. Don’t waste your money here or store your personal belongings here unless you don’t care what state they’re in. We had to discard almost all the items we had left in there because we didn’t want to bring home contaminated items.

Price hikes cost to store went up and up and up and up. Beside that no issues

The facility at 150 William F McClellan Highway is NOT climate controlled. I’ve been storing items here for years and this summer I’ve discovered mold on many of my items. In addition, one of the main doors to enter the facility has been completely broken for over a year now. You can only access storage units from the back or the side door which isn’t at all convenient. In addition, the cost of the units have gone up significantly this past year.

I would be wary to store anything here beyond a month or two. Danny was the bomb at our cube smart location. He somehow made the experience of getting storage space entertaining. Highly recommend Danny and this location.

I gave these guys a super positive review because the service was outstanding in getting signed up. But now I just receive an 11% increase in my rate -- way higher than inflation! Completely unreliable as a company. I rented a locker before leaving for 3 months abroad, and then a month before returning got a message that my locker had been terminated and I had to move within a month. It turned out they only rented the building and had no protective clause for their customers. The building is being torn down, and the customers are on their own. Deal with a local company that owns their own facility.

Very expensive. Lights don't work in my unit. Been there for almost 3 years and they have hacked the price of my storage up so much that I want to leave this place and store my stuff elsewhere. If I had the time. Employees up front seemike they have a chip on there shoulder or just don't like there jobs. You would think that after years of paying on time or even maybe a little late and paying the 30 something fee for being late that you would want to keep your existing customers instead of scaring them away with rent increases every year.. Can understand cost of living or utility costs increases but heck why not just double the rent and give me a heart attack if you want your long time, long term renters to go.

If you can, do ExtraSpace. My experience with ExtraSpace was incredible and professional. I remember a couple of hours after I vacated my cube, someone called me and asked if they should close my lease with them to which I said yes. I was just so surprised that someone could come after me to make sure I don't pay more than I need to. Some things I didn't like about CubeSmart is that they are month to month and they don't clearly outline when you need to vacate your things before you have to pay for another month's worth of storage. In fact, it's not stated anywhere in your lease agreement, I had to call to find that out.

Good customer service, well-lit facility, used this place temporarily during a move and would go to the East Boston location again if I need storage. But the small number of hand trucks available was frustrating as they were hard to come by most times I stopped by.

I’m writing this for my mom who wants to acknowledge a great manager named Charles at store# 0589. She had called to speak to someone about a unit that was auctioned off a year ago without her knowledge that had sentimental items in there from childhood. Her young sister had lost the unit that had all my moms pictures and my grandmothers personal belongings. My grandmother had passed away from cancer which is why my mom is heartbroken over this because that was all her memories of her mom. As she spoke to Charles and told him this story, he listened and apologized and gave her all the time she needed. He was a true gentleman and spoke so kindly and was very helpful with tracking the unit. He also went above and beyond to try and see if he can get in touch with the people who bought it so we can try to buy back our memories of my grandmother back. If we could give this guy more than 5 stars we would! He is amazing and CubeSmart is very lucky to have such an amazing manager/person working for them. He is an asset to the company and deserves to be recognized!

during COVID-19 outbreak it's to be expected for operations to be handled differently with most if not all businesses. However my experience with CubeSmart, could be described as nothing other than a scam. I called on Tuesday May 19 to verify that the East Boston location still had a truck for tenants to use upon request. I booked a unit after verifying this. I was told the local manager would call me to schedule. He did, he called me within a few hours to verify 22May at 1200PM I would be able to pick up the truck and proceed moving in. I hired 2 people to help me move into the unit. When I arrived to get the truck, the clearly agitated attendant at the front desk asserted that access to the truck was not allowed during COVID-19. After I already paid for the unit. After calling the 'regional manager' named Errol and leaving a voicemail. I called the national number where i was advised I should hire a moving company. Meanwhile I'm paying my 2 guys to sit around. I went to U-Haul to get a unit and a truck. They were more expensive, but the process went smoothly. I received a call back from the 'regional manager' Errol after I'd already obtained a unit and a truck at UHaul. There was no apology, I was treated like I was in the wrong by every local CubeSmart employee i dealt with. This is the second time in 5 years I have used CubeSmart East Boston for storage. The previous time, I had requested the "truck" that they advertise, and they advised it was in the shop ... for 2 weeks. So if you're planning on using cubesmart because they have a truck. Be warned, it's unlikely to go as you expected. I never stepped foot into the storage facility beyond the office. They still have my money, and I have yet to be refunded in any capacity.

I would have given you a ten but no one said anything about insurance when I called asking about storage space. It makes sense just had to make an extra trip. Also don't like that the price is not guaranteed.

We had rented a U-Haul for the day to put all my stuff in storage for a couple of months, since construction on our apartment building got delayed. It was a Saturday, so this location business hours ended at 5pm. We arrived at the location around 2pm only to find a group of people waiting outside of the office, which was closed. There was a sign taped on the glass that said "be back soon!" with a clock illustrating 2:30pm. We asked the people how long they'd been waiting, many had been standing there for over a half an hour. 2:30pm came and went, but still no sign of anybody working that day. Imagine having to unload a U-Haul you just loaded, only to have to go and rent another U-Haul to load it all again, since this employee went MIA. That's what was going through our minds. At 4pm, with one hour left in the business day, the employee working there finally had arrived and got us a storage unit. Totally misled us about pricing though. I would not trust getting support from this location and advise going elsewhere.

By far, the shadiest business practices I have ever encountered. Stay far away, run to Self-Storage. This location's associates lied to our face about pricing. Getting phone support is like climbing a mountain that just kicks you back down again. We were trying to pay our bill with the same credit card used the first month, but learned that would not be allowed unless I permitted the cardholder (my girlfriend) to do so at their office in person. Same card, already paid with it, and her signature on the contract. Also, it is her stuff in storage. I just made the initial reservation online. These mosquitos will suck you dry. In response to the review I had written above on Yelp, Dan A. responded as an owner of the business location, recommending to email CubeSmart support. I relayed Dan's instructions to email support to my girlfriend. She wrote a thorough, detailed email, asking for clarification and seeking assistance. She received only a terse reply, asking to confirm the name on the account. That's it. (She provided the account number and storage unit number in her email) Let’s reiterate the facts: -Her signature is on the contract. -Her driver license information is on the contract. -Her mailing and billing addresses are on the contract. -She paid the first month’s bill at the office with her credit card. -Her stuff in storage. I only scheduled a time online to reserve a storage unit. Did not sign a contract to do that. Did not pay anything to do that. Yet, they will let me do whatever I want to the account, but turn her away when she calls despite providing the storage unit number and account number and paying to use it. The fact that my girlfriend had to call me to ask to call them and give my permission to allow her to handle the account’s balance comes off as sexist, but also as a striking display of incompetence when all we are trying to do is pay you far more than you deserve. UPDATE: I received a voicemail left by someone named Stephanie who identified herself as from corporate, calling to bring a resolution to the situation. She provided no way for me to call or email her back. I tried to call back the unknown number she used, but failed since it had no caller ID.

I stored here for a while. Affordable price for the level of sectional service. You really can’t beat them. I love the customer service. Marieulle is one of the managers I’ve ever dealt with in any storage company I have been to. Very professional. Thank you cubeSmart. Ask about the free truck!

The staff at the CubeSmart are great. Casey did a great job on the picking a storage unit for me, and Hector was wonderful at making the process for actually renting the unit easy for me during a very stressful time. There is also one other employee that I'd like to give a major compliment to, but I can't remember her name. She worked in the office on Sunday June 2nd, and she was amazing. My boyfriend, and I came in a couple of minutes before 3 on that day,; and, although the store was closing at 3, she took the time to make sure we had definitely made the right choice in terms of the size of the unit by showing us 2 different units. I work in retail. So, I know great customer service, and the staff at Cubesmart in East Boston definitely deserve 5 stars.

Since I bought the unit the service has been great. The place is always clean and well kept up. I can’t think of any reason not to use cubesmart. They make it easy

I have always had a wonderful time here at CubeSmart. The managers are all well trained. Marieulle is a new face and I see greatness in her. Works well under pressure. I just had the absolute best experience at CubeSmart thanks to Marieulle Jean-Baptiste. Despite thinking I left plenty of buffer room to drive my rental truck from NYC to Boston, 7 hours later I arrived to a closed CubeSmart with a truck full of every single one of my possessions. Worried about leaving it street-parked overnight after hearing some friends’ stolen-moving-truck-horror-stories (not near CubeSmart, but you can never be too careful!), I had called CubeSmart prior to see if there were any possible solutions. Luckily, I had the pleasure of speaking with Marieulle, who told me about an option to park my truck securely overnight in their facility for a small (and well worth it) fee, and even offered that she could stay 30 minutes after closing to let me in. I was so thankful for her offer and relieved to have this option... but then the traffic continued to get worse and worse. I realized I would never make it by 30 minutes post-closing and called Marieulle back, but to my surprise she told me not to worry because she would close up at closing time, go home, and then come back to the facility whenever I arrived! I gave her a call as I was arriving, and believe or not, there was Marieulle ready to register my unit and secure my truck, TWO HOURS AFTER closing time! I’ve witnessed some pretty stand-out service experiences in my life, but I’ve never seen such amazing customer service as Marieulle’s sacrifice of her personal time and evening after work to help me in my time of need! The next morning I returned to my secured truck and had a seamless experience unloading everything. The facility was very clean, with well-working AC and plenty of good quality dollys. Thank you Marieulle, and thank you CubeSmart!

Marieulle J-Baptiste is an exceptional example of what customer service is all about. She took an additional 30 minutes after the offices were closed to allow me to charge my cell phone. This made a tremendous difference in my life due to the fact that I'm caring for my elderly mother. She completely relies on me.

Loved keeping my things here was very easy to make payments and to get in the customer servies is outstanding Updated 7/14/19 The day I posted this review I had emptied out my storage unit and Marieulle told me I was all set which was apparently a lie considering i have gotten emails, calls, and a letter saying they have no received my payment. Each time I have explained I emptied my unit and no longer need to pay as I no longer use it. This is ridiculous.

Clean and well maintained, with professional staff, and plenty of parking. Seasonal pricing, so summers are more expensive, but they've always had space available the few times I've needed it, mostly in-between moves.

In the process of moving out of my storage cube, Daniel Gelin and Charles Timmons were extremely helpful, especially given that I was starting a stressful overseas move. Both Daniel and Charles made a huge difference in making it way easier to cope with the move and for that I am extremely thankful. Thank you, Danny and Charles! To anyone searching for storage space in the Boston area, I can't recommend CubeSmart in Easy Boston enough. The fact that I had two separate experiences where different members of staff went above and beyond what anyone could reasonably expect of them should say enough about the quality of customer service here. You can't go wrong choosing these guys! ----- Original from August 2018 ----- This CubeSmart location has outstanding service. When I hired movers to pick up my belongings and bring them to my new apartment they accidentally left my bike behind in one of the common areas. I reached out to CubeSmart and I was lucky to be helped by Levi Bailey. Levi went through the work of checking the cameras to find out when the movers left my bike behind and who took it. He then contacted the person who took my bike and requested that they return it. Bottom line: I recovered my bike thanks to Levi's digilence and willingness to go above and beyond in his job. Excellent experience.

Rented a cube just before a move from a big house to a small apartment. Stored a good deal of records and other valuables until I could sell them. Unit was very secure, and dry. Now able to sell off the bulk of what I had stored there. Staff were very helpful setting up and helping me use it.

This is a great place to get storage boxes and all moving materials. Have been here several times and the staff is always super helpful!
