Thank you to Melissa Jaure, a customer of our CubeSmart store in Denver, CO, for sharing her story with us.
Melissa Jaure is a born businesswoman. Balancing consulting work in client relations and sales development along with running her growing children’s clothing resale pop-up store, she doesn’t have much time for self-storage spaces that don’t fill her requirements.
“A couple of things I look for are access to bathrooms and elevators, amenities like pushcarts, and a location that’s convenient to my home and work,” she says. “Security is also really important. I check on how the facility is maintained, how security footage is viewed, and also how the management is.”
Luckily for all involved, our CubeSmart store in southeast Denver fits the bill in all regards and has counted Melissa as a customer for the past few years.
“The Store Manager, Mary, is a great manager and a nice person. She’s fair and firm and friendly,” Melissa tells us. “CubeSmart tries to work with you, which definitely helps my stress levels. I also love when they do a dollar special or free month that gives me a break on a bill. To get a break on a bill these days is pretty awesome.”
Mary mostly uses her unit to store inventory from her pop-up clothing shop, along with some personal items. When we met her, she was visiting her unit with her mom, which she does about once a week to organize and pull pieces.
“One of the things I love about running a children’s resale business is that it’s a great help for families,” she says. “I also love the whole business of resale. I’m a huge advocate for the environment, and truly believe it’s very important for all of us to reuse, recycle, and upcycle.”
A sixth-generation native Coloradoan, Melissa’s business ambitions and eye for social impact make us think this won’t be the last time we hear about her – or see her at CubeSmart.
