The locking mechanism on our storage unit was busted and jammed. The manager, Iris, called me to tell me that our unit was unlocked and offered a quick fix in a day. She and the repairman met me on a Saturday morning and repaired the mechanism very quickly and efficiently. Iris went above and beyond to help me and I thank her for her excellent service.

We are looking to move and needed a storage to move few things from our condo. I had an appointment to see 3 storage locations, but the moment I spoke to Ires on the phone, I knew that was the place to go. What a blessing it was to meet her; she took her time to explain everything and was just as professional in person as she was on the phone. The unit was exactly what we needed, and the price was great. If looking for a place to store your items, check this place and ask for her. The building was clean, well secured and close to the highway and Uhaul for all moving needs.

Hi, My experience with CubeSmart Self Storage was very pleasant. I met with Miss. Iris who showed me how to have access to the building, where to park, and and enter to my storage unit. It's is safe and easy access. Miss. Iris was professional and answered all my questions and resolved any concerns. I am a stroke patient with limited endurance in my energy, and needed a storage unit for short term during my transfer from my current apartment to a new apartment, renting a storage unit to place my belongings slowly until I move to my new apartment it is cost effective and affordable. As I have limited budget, I can't afford to hire movers and a truck that I can't afford. Renting a storage unit is more affordable. Miss. Iris was kind, honest, professional, and gracious to me. When I searched for a storage unit to store some furniture, equipment and miscellaneous stuff, I went to several places. I stopped by cube smart on N Kedzie Ave and I spoke to Iris. She was able to assist me with the type of unit I needed and quoted me a very good price. I have recently vacated the unit and Iris was always there in case I needed assistance with anything. The remote access in the app never worked and neither did my code. I always had to go into the office to have them raise the gate. This meant that I was tied to the office hours so there would always be someone to open the gate. I chose CubeSmart because their access hours went past the office hours and going later at night worked for me. I was disappointed that I could not go later at night because of my code not working.

The office attended. Iris was really great. She helped me out with everything I needed took me for a walk-through of the facility to show me where my Storage shed was she also keeps a very clean facility very good looking. I will choose to use this service again and again and again every single time that I need a storage unit, I’ve been to storage units and locations and they’ve been nowhere as clean and none of them have had the great hospitality that Iris has. She’s a great person and thank you guys for having her on your staff. She is such an attentive person and a great representative of your company that when we were walking through to the shed, she noticed one shed Locked properly by customer, she stopped. She took the time to call the customer and let the customer know they had left the facility and their shed is open also to inform them that the customer left the shed open. The storage company is not liable for anything in the shed. but the customer told her it’s OK I’m not really worried about it so obviously Iris cares more about people stuff than they do and she’s a great employee it was a pleasure meeting her and having her help me through this aggravating and stressful time of moving

I really loved storing my items at CubeSmart on Kedzie. The front desk workers were very kind and helpful. They gave me a warm welcome when my lease started. It was very simple to enter and exit the facility and I felt safe and was confident about the security of my possessions. They'd get 5 stars, but sometimes the lights on my floor would not turn on and I'd have to bring a work light.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Security processes were very good. But one of the two elevators has been out of order for about two months, with no indication it's ever going to be fixed. The main gate has been in the up position for about two weeks. So much for security. And when my initial four month promotional agreement ended, my monthly charge went up by about $100. So no. I'm not thrilled.

Quick and easy rental. The employees here are super nice and helpful. The whole facility was clean and new looking. They have multiple entrance doors that you can pull up your car to, unload your items on one of their carts and at least 3 elevators. They have bathrooms and water fountains on the ground floor. They didn’t have a lot of availability, which I think speaks to nicely maintained facilities. There’s another 2 self-storage places on this stretch of Kedzie, but after comparing prices and visiting 2, CubeSmart is the smart choice.

Be very careful and get everything in writing upfront! When moving in, we were not sure how long we would need the unit, the man working there told us if we stay longer than two or three months, come back and talk to him and we can work on the price. After two months, the Manager told us no new discounts, ever! She almost acted like we were crazy for even asking to the point of almost being rude. When confronted with the fact that an employee had told us they could work on the price, we were given some lame story that he didn't actually work for that location. The classic bait and switch. Move in was quick and the units are fine, but I came after dark recently to pick up an item and not a single outside light was on. Completely dark. Since I have seen random strangers wander in and out when the gate is up, it was a little worrying.

The office employees at the CubeSmart on Kedzie in Chicago make the difference. Thee two women I have dealt with are super accommodating, friendly, and patient. They have worked with me throughout my storage process, which, honestly, is just filled with stress for me and likely most people. I have now rented two different spaces with CubeSmart and even though there are multiple storage options closer to my home, I have stayed with them.

Edit 11.12.23 Dropped off some things at my unit just before close and there was someone sleeping/snoring inside an adjacent unit. This wasn’t the first time. This person has been semi-living in the unit for at least a year. As sad as that is, it shows a total lack of security. Also, I emailed and called Cubesmart after their response below and never heard back from them. Total lip service. I’d move to another storage facility but am kind of stuck with this one. 9.15.23: 3 to 2 stars. Rate increased again from $120 to $145 for the same unit. No other changes. Temperatures were in the high 80s inside during the July heat spell. Claiming this is climate controlled is now borderline fraud. Edit 5.12.23: from 4 stars to 3. While still clean, over the past three years they have nearly DOUBLED their rate while lowering the product/service level. I used to pay $69 for my 5x15 unit. Now I pay $120. This is supposed to be a climate controlled complex. I keep a temp and humidity device in my unit. They have slowly lowered the lowest temp (to 49 degrees) and raised the highest temp (82 degrees) allowed. Worse off, humidity is now a problem and some stored items have begun to suffer moisture damage and warp from humidity problems (maxed at 73% humidity!). I suspect this is all to cut costs and milk money from their customers. It's now sub standard. Original: It's very clean and well secured. That peace of mind is really what's important. The staff is very friendly and accommodating here too. Some little things do take a star off though. For example, they WILL NOT prorate your payment if you upgrade or downsize your unit which is nonsense. So, try to time your switch for when your current month is up or you'll be paying for two units. This particular location has a problem with people putting carts in their lockers. So at times there are very few carts to use for everyone else. I've mentioned this to them for years and nothing has changed. So bring your own dolly if you have heavy and/or many things to move around. Also, if you have homeowners insurance you don't need their insurance. Most homeowners insurance policies cover your belongings no matter where they are. So save some money and bring a print-out copy of your policy for them to keep in their files.

I received an email with what I should expect to pay the first day, but it was wrong. There were additional fees. You also need to provide your own lock or buy theirs for $18. Manager was also distracting the agent with non-work related stories while he was trying to assist me. The place itself, however, is clean. Elevators are convenient for loading, and dollies were available to make things easier. Edit: 8/10/18. Updated from 3 stars to 5 stars. Per below response from owner, I was contacted by a Senior Manager who apologized for the misses and in my opinion, has taken appropriate steps to rectify the situation.

I was very pressed for time and needed to get my U-Haul back to its location within 50 minutes. The man who checked me in and processed my paperwork respected my time constraint and worked to get me going as soon as possible. A gentleman who worked at this Cubesmart location volunteered to help me and my friend unload the contents of my two bedroom apartment on the ground outside in under 20 minutes. He then proceeded to help us load all of it onto carts to take upstairs. We thanked him and tried to offer him money multiple times, but he would not take it. It is rare to encounter this kind of genuine selflessness. The location is clean and there is music playing (lightly) on all floors. I will always recommend this location to anyone looking for short or long-term storage.

When I called today to inquire about the first month being free (advertised on their sign and their website) the other manager was rude and unknowledgable about why they false advertise this. It’s only for the bigger spaces, which they should specify. I don’t appreciate false advertising and didn’t demand any free month, but was trying to understand. Whoever is the other manager wasn’t nice about it and basically said “That’s the way things go” ...false advertising to get people to come in and then only give the deal if you rent a huge space? Not cool or fair and it was quite rude the way I was spoken to. Casey is awesome though! Might do some research on if the first month is actually free or if it’s just bait. Can’t. Trust. Anyone.

I went to uhaul down the street first with the truck. Then I I checked out Cube Smart and immediately cancelled the uhual storage and got double the storage with at a cheaper price with better hours and great service and more insurance. All around great experience and easy to access. Will use again if/when needed

These people are very nice and pleasant. When I walked in one employee was in training and I didn't feel I was in the office signing up any extra time than it should have taken. The prices are good. The building is clean, the storage lockers are nice, there are cameras and call buttons on every floor as you'd expect, the elevators work and are nice for what they are. I walked into cubesmart after trying to use the business next door but the lady was profoundly rude. Don't go to the rude lady.

Love, love, LOVE CubeSmart Kedzie 60618 storage facility and the staff! I've rented from one of the biggest names in storage for multiple years, and while their staff was also friendly and accommodating, their spaces were more expensive, not as well-lit, had issues with theft and damage, and *no where* as clean. After doing the research and reading the reviews, I decided to give CubeSmart a try. As it turns out, CubeSmart really *is* all that's been said, and offers a wider range of access hours than the others! Happy to be here!

Friendly, helpful customer service. Fair prices for Chicago-proper storage units. Accessibility range is reasonable considering I work odd hours. 0600-2200, 365 days/yr. Climate controlled, pull-carts, great lighting, and secure. Highly recommended!

I had a great first impression from this CubeSmart the first time I started renting from them. Now, months later, as I start the moving process I am renting a second unit. Shawan is a great store manager and is so happy all the time. It is such a refreshing experience to talk to her, whether it be about the unit, possible new ones, or an issue with your account. I'll be a longtime CubeSmart customer because of her.

I am a newbie to the storage world. But, I needed to find a temperature controlled location to store my product. I searched a few reviews to find my initial location. I hastily signed an agreement but kept looking since I was not happy with the staff's lack of responsiveness and follow-up. I stumbled upon Cube Smart, and fell in love with the customer service, security, accessibility, and cleanliness of the facility. Their pricing beat all the other locations that I searched since I needed a 10x25 unit. I officially moved in last Friday and I have NO regrets. I discovered that they can accept packages and place them in my unit, which is a plus since I travel frequently and am out of town. Cacharel & Shawan take customer service to the next level. I couldn't be any happier with my decision to rent with this location. No regrets!!
