I was saddened to be told that the facility was only open business hours instead of 10-6 every day. I am not sure how I am supposed to move on a weekend when I can’t access the facility.

I reseeved and paid for the unit online and was able to get in, store, and do everything I needed to in the storage unit after hours and without having to encounter any Cube Smart employees or go to the office. It was marvelously convenient for someone with NO availabiliy during the daytime to be able to take care of the red tape, contracts, and payment in the middle of the night and not worry about making it to the office before they leave fir the day. PRO TIP: If you aren't setting up your reservation at a CubeSmart office and getting a chance to see it before signing the contract, don't choose the cheapest unit b/c this is a situation where spending an extra $5 a month can save you major loading and unloading time as well as back pain. When multiple units are being offered on the same floor and they are the same size with the same amenities, pay for the one that's a few dollars more. When I saw that they were offering over a dozen 10" X 10" units, the cheapest being $10 less than the most expensive, and all the units were different prices, the difference being $2-3 dollars, I splurged and paid for the most expensive unit (when I am prone to choosing the cheapest option). My hunch to pay a few dollars more paid off when I went to my unit for the first time to discover it was literally feet from the door to the cargo bay to the entrance of my unit. No stairs, elevators, going through different aisles, makI ngvtight turns or walking further than two cars' length!! I just pull the car right up into the cargo bay, choosing to park it in a real space to the left of the door or double park it right in front of the double sliding door entrance, and stroll 100 feet to the unit. Now, remember, this is one of those CubeSmart buildings that are like squat 6 floor tall towers and if you get a cheap climate controlled one, you could end up having to park the car in the lot, who knows how close or far to the closest entrance (you block the entrance to the lot and all the other entrances if you double park at oneof the doors) walk a half a flight of steps, deal with single door entrances (and you have to keep the door propped), load and unload items into an elevator and your unit could be a whole floor, at least a 1000 feet, from the elevator! Or worse, there is no convenient parking and you can't double park by an entrance so you have park at the cargo bay door entrances, take yourself halfway through the floor to the elevator then trek through another floor before locating the unit, which will be in a faraway corner nowhere near doors if it's a cheaper unit. So, pay the extra $5-10 and get a climate controlled unit that is a mere handful of steps away from your car, as opposed to having a unit in Storage Siberia, which takes a 1/3 of a mile of walking just to go from the parked car to the elevator, to the unit and back, halg that time dealing with a cart loaded with over100 lbs (hopefully you located one of the 3 carts on the premises, but it might take awhile to go through all the floors and labyrinthne hallways to locate them), or worse, being the one loaded down with boxes, bags, and other heavy stuff if there is no cart in sight. However, when your car and unit are literally feet apart, it's not nearly as hard to drag a 65 lb bag a few doors down

DO NOT USE THEM .... CS increased my rate 25% after only having my unit for three months citing an increase in the rate. After only three months??? I moved most of my stuff in and budgeted the monthly expense. Now I am living half way across the country and there is not much I can do. The manager doesn't do anything and couldn't even escalate my concern to his supervisors. He gave me the number to his supervisors, Christine and Becky, and they do not answer and are not responding to my voicemail. This place does bait and switch. Just because that's your rate today DOES NOT mean it will be even close to that rate just three months later.

I pay my rent two months ahead every time. In the last year I have not been late but they keep raising my rent about every three months or so. I am a bit perturbed by this situation because I am a great renter who doesn’t have any money to keep having my rent raised. I’m on a fixed income and am looking to move out of cube smart and take my stored assets elsewhere

The only part that may not have lived up to the billing was the climate control. Our space on the second floor was not as cool as we thought it would be (I had seen information on the Cubesmart web site that mentioned temperatures were kept in the range of 68 to 72 degrees). It was more like upper 70's with noticeable humidity during the summer. We were storing a piano so temperature control was important. On the other hand, the temperature/humidity was certainly better than a storage space that had no climate control. For everything else (access to the building, security, convenience, customer service, cleanliness, etc.), Cubesmart worked well for us. We stored some household goods and furniture in our space as well.

Ignore the price quote they give on their website. They will increase the price after you've been using it for a few months. They barely even notify you of the change. If you reach out to ask them about the increase, you'll never get a response back. As far as I can tell, there is nothing to stop them from increasing the price regularly. I suggest finding a different storage company. CubeSmart: If you want me to delete these reviews, which you'll find on every CubeSmart in the Des Moines area, then the price is a refund of what I've paid you to date (less than a year of renting a 5x5 unit) plus a full year of my current rental unit for free.

I can say nothing but incredible things about the management of CubeSmart. The young man that help me get my first unit was so professional so helpful made me understand everything. It was a great experience now I had to call and get another unit and to make sure we got the best one closest to our existing one. He let me know of the unit number put the whole welcome packet and put my lock on for me in the unit so I could come and get it later on in the week. Manager Rhonda treats you like another customer for money, doesn't care about you at all, nobody reimbursed me for products stolen from my storage unit because I couldn't provide video proof of items being stolen from my storage unit.

It is my opinion in doing business with this location that they have been extremely unethical and unresponsive. Facility was not as clean as other storage facilities I’ve used in the past. Management is very unprofessional. In my opinion, they are not sincere with their business model. I signed a lease via email portal because I didn’t expect a business like CubeSmart to use a contract as leverage to keep my money and disregard FACTS. I have proof I canceled my unit same day (because the storage units elevator was broken! ) and they still keep won’t refund me and ignore my calls. I escalated this to the district managers and still no response. I usually trust businesses to run ethically so I don’t mind signing contracts, but clearly CubeSmart is a franchise that doesn’t hold owners to expectations. Once they had my money, the customer service stopped.

It's pretty quiet and eerie a bit and they lack on carts. Usually there are only 2 and the last time I was there the wheel was broken on one and they are super loud. Usually never anyone in the office the last few times. Other then that it's pretty chill.

I got the 3x5x4 storage which is fine but the only thing I don’t like is there’s no ceiling. It’s like a wire cage. I don’t like the fact that anyone can look down into it & see what I have in there. Also my storage is on top of another one & is very difficult to climb in if I wanted to stack my items towards the back. But on the good it is very clean & the women that work there were very polite, friendly & helpful. I even received a call asking if I needed anything, which you don’t see much these days. Oh and the place is HUGE! I got lost twice already. But hey, I’m sure I’ll remember where my storage is without having to think about it…. Eventually!

The back ramp is a bit of a pain in the butt when there are a lot of people trying to use it. You WILL get blocked in, so I suggest using a side entrance. Your door code frequently errors out and won’t let you in. Also someone recently busted the sliding back door in (photo attached) and I personally witnessed it sit like that for over a day, so don’t expect secure entry. Edit: was just there 08/07/2022 to find that the suspicion of ceiling leaks were true. I had always seen water spots on the floor, but had never been into the building when it was raining. So yeah, see photo;
