The online system was easy to navigate. When I arrived at the location I could not get access due to my code not being in the system. And no one was on duty during that time. The employee on the phone was unable to reset or give a temporary code at that time. When I returned to the office during business hours they stated the unit I was assigned was not usable and I was assigned a new unit and a new code.

I was happy with the facility and the space that I rented. However, I feel strongly that Prime Storage uses bait and switch tactics. After only two months they doubled my rate. They let me move everything in and then doubled my rate. I am also not happy that every time I have gone to my storage unit over the last several weeks the gate has been open. After I originally posted this review, I received a phone call from Prime Storage . They explained that the gate was being fixed and they put my rates back down to the original rental price. I appreciate their quick response and the fact that they made things right.

Prime Storage on Industry Pkwy in Nicholasville is the worst storage unit I have ever used! Over the years I have had self storage at 7 different units and locations. Though they advertise this as a climate controlled unit, it was NOT climate controlled, since the outside door to the building was broken and wouldn’t close accurately. The heating unit is also in the middle of the hallway, and the bottom of the unit is at approximately 6’ height, causing me to have to duck every time I moved anything in or out of the unit. I started out paying $83 a month for a 10‘ x 10‘ unit, and they tried to raise my rates to $125 per month after only 4 months. I complained and they ONLY RAISED my rate to $100 per month, but then just raised it to $142 a month (without any notification). This resulted in almost a 200% raise in rental rate in 18 months.. I would never use their services again, and wouldn’t recommend anyone use them.

No one mentioned that to me when I was signing contract, apparently it’s somewhere in contract, so read the terms in conditions in little letters, if you don’t want to pay extra

I have mixed feelings regarding my short time storing items here. The people in the local office were wonderful, very personable and helpful. The facility itself was fine, appeared to be secure, but on one occasion my daughter was approached by a couple of individuals asking about drugs and offering to sell her a gun, so that was not kosher! Luckily her boyfriend was there so she wasnt alone. The final straw for me leaving was the $48 per month rate increase after 3 Months! While I understand large companies do blanket rate increases, when i inquired, they were willing to drop it by half, which after only 3 months was still unacceptable. So, people great, security eh?, but corporate relations not great! ??

Absolutely horrible business. There ridiculous to get a hold of. You dial the office but yet get redirected to there call center that can't assist you with anything more than a simple message a message I could have and would have rather left myself. I tried to purchase a unit Wednesday, told my card was confirmed and I would receive an email shortly. Never received one email was wrong and payment was never processed by Thursday evening was able to sort out the mess and purchase a unit but at the wrong location. So Friday after moving all day and trying to enter a gate I was denyed. After making several attempts to call there office to relocate. I was sent to the call center who simply left them a message and that I needed a call back asap two days go by no call, no answer from anyone who could make a difference or decision and Monday after numerous attempts was told I couldn't cancel or receive a refund due to it being over there 24hour agreement. What a waste of money. Single mom hard worker throwing away hard earned money.

Only gripe was there was a burned out light bulb in one of my units and I had to coordinate getting it changed with the maintenance people, which I never did. They couldn’t get in unless I let them in. But other than that, they are great folks to deal with.

I've been at this place for 7 years or more. I have not ever missed a payment. Now they're trying to tell me each day I have to unhook my trailer and rehook it up in the morning. It is easier to get a trailer stolen when it is not hooked up to a truck. I've also had stuff stolen and this past winter a catalytic converter cut off of my truck. Looks like I'm going to have to find another place to go . Also can only talk to someone in office cannot get a hold of any upper management at all.

Had my max built trailer here for over a year… it’s on file that I haven’t accessed the gate since October 26 2021 and for some reason a picture was taken of my trailer on January 12 2022… I go to pick it up yesterday on august 6th 2022 and my trailer has disappeared and to make matters worse there’s a whole another trailer with jet ski on it in my parking spot of 621…. The staff doesn’t know when it became missing and somebody notated that it was “gone ?” With no date of departure ..how does this company charge me religiously per month for a piece of grass or somebody else trailer and not even notify me… beyond livid… they’re playing with the right one… seems like an inside job..absolutely terrible and despicable conduct of business ….even the jessamine county police didn’t have anything positive to say about this place…. Go SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Prime Storage industry parkway, is the worst facility. They raise their prices often. And it's $50 to 100$ each raise. And your unit will be full of mice eating away at your things...I wouldn't rent here. Nevermind the two trailers that were stolen from me there...

The entrance door to my hallway of my unit hasn't had a door handle at least for 6 months and I was wondering if they're ever going to fix it. Also the doors don't shut which obviously if they're being air conditioned are losing air conditioning out the doors

I have had nothing but problems with this facility since it started. I booked my storage unit online drove the largest moving truck I could find 118 miles to find that the unit I rented was locked and nobody was in the office. The next day and was assured it would be unlocked drove said moving truck 118 miles again to find that it was still locked. Not wanting to add another $900 to my trips we found a unit that didn’t have anything in it and unloaded the moving truck backwards so that when we could get my unit unlocked we could move everything in there and have access to what we needed right away. Fast forward 45 days and not hearing from anybody I get a call saying that the unit I had rented still had their vacant lock on it.. I updated them on what was going on and was told there is now new management. I was credited partial from what I had paid and still they refused to rent me the unit I had originally rented.. instead they refuse to let me on the property until I signed a new lease for the unit where I had temporarily storaged my things. Struggling through a broken foot and being unemployed we come to today.. paid my bill at 9 o’clock this morning to get my unit out of foreclosure, show up at noon my unit is still locked and I was told they would not unlock it until I had a new lock.. because they cut mine. Told him I would run up to the Walmart and get a lock and as with every other time I have had any need for somebody there an emergency came up and they would not be there. So they’re trying to force me to buy their overpriced locks (18.00 for one that was 6 at Walmart) I refused and I told her she could not keep me out of my unit that I would not come back tomorrow I would be getting stuff out today and I would not be purchasing one of their locks. She did finally unlock my storage unit and now I get to maneuver through their insurance because one of my camera lenses was sitting in water. Along with the battery charger and two batteries. This place is absolutely ridiculous. They only get one star because I had to give them something in order to make and post a review

They have a very poor administrative system. On top of jacking your rates, they will automatically start charging you for "their" insurance without proper notice. When they sent me an email stating they needed updated insurance information, and to provide it within 30 days, they applied the charge 10 days later, not 30. It took 4 days to get anyone to call back or deal with this mistake on their end, and even then told me it was my fault. They literally said they could not credit back my credit card for the erroneous charge. They have a district manager named "Dave", but won't give you his last name (what a joke; it's a storage business, not the CIA). Dave will NOT call you back no matter how many times you ask. He's not even from the state nor the region. This outfit is a a total clown show, where they have the answering services and computer systems, etc. and yet don't know how to operate a smooth operation with all these tools. UPDATE (May 2022): The district manager Dave (not even from the area) had the employee at my location call me to offer a month of free rental if I would take down this review. He wouldn't call me himself, no matter how many times I asked. I refused his bribe; I'm not going to let his sleazy tactics get in the way of an honest review. Shameful. I felt so sorry for the girl at the office and told her as much.

I have had no issues with the facility or the employees. Our only issue was the 30% price increase for no reason. The initial price we were paying was still being advertised on the website. No explanation on why there was an increase. I spoke with the employees and they stated the rates are determined by corporate. We had to downsize our unit. I can only hope they don’t increase them again. 12/06/2021 Update: Called the number and left a message, however I have not received a return call. 09/16/2024 Update: Still no return call.

This storage facility is the worst I have EVER dealt with. My rate increased constantly with no explanation as to why. I went to clear out my unit and ALL of my stuff was covered in black mold. I called to ask what they could do even if it was take a few dollars off my bill and the woman was so rude explaining it wasn’t “her” problem and the statement amount would stay the same plus added another statement because they wouldn’t cancel it while there was a “balance due”. Ridiculous customer service. Not climate controlled at all. Shame.

They are money hungry I was late 1 month I set up auto pay over phone 2 months later I have a lean and huge bill. It seemed extremely intentional that they requested auto pay and never set it up for me over the phone waited 2 months to Bill me over $245 for a $52 storage building. These people noticed that I drive a good car where clean clothes and have expensive shoes and watches they try to take me for everything that they possibly could but what they don't know is I pay very close attention on my money that's how I still have it. 245 for a $52 late payment. That's unreasonable business practices and I own seven businesses. This is a profit not people place so be very cautious when using their services. And make sure you look like trash when you go in there or they'll find every way to keep billing you for more

The facility is good except we got stuck with a unit that has a steep slope leading to the exterior door, it’s a pain for moving large heavy objects. But the reason for only 3 stars is because the constant rate increases are higher than the rate of inflation, so it feels like they keep increasing the rate just because they can.

When COVID hit and I lost my job they raised my unit rental and a $20 late fee wth out letting me know of any of these changes. It is clean nice. After bout 6 mths of renting my unit was broke n. Worst place to rent from. Rented in May 2020. My shed was broken into by June 2020 and over $1500 worth of equipment was stolen. They said nothing could be done about it even though they have cameras. The front gate was broken and stood open for almost 8 months straight. Every time I asked about it, they were waiting on a part. Yeah right! My rent was raised $10 very soon after I started. Fine. Now I have gotten an letter stating my rent will be raised $50 starting next month. $117 when their website says $97. Ridiculous!!
