This past Monday I was in to inquire about renting a storage unit and was helped by Jen. She was extremely polite, professional and helpful. She put a unit on hold for me, and I told her I would get back to her the next day with a decision. I called her on Tuesday and let her know I wanted to rent the unit and at that point she reserved the unit for me. This afternoon I went into building to rent the unit and was helped by both Jen and Cheryl. The rental process was smooth and easy. Absolutely no issues. The location manager (SOOO sorry I'm forgetting your name...) was absolutely amazing and helped us when we were left stranded by another rental company! My wife and I had initially rented through mySpace storage downtown Brighton. We showed up on Saturday 7/26 at noon (during their listed business hours) with our full U-Haul to finalize paperwork and move in. When we arrived, the building was closed and no one could be bothered to answer their phone. Obviously stressed, and unsure what to do with a U-Haul full of stuff, we saw that CubeSmart was open and hoped we could figure something out to salvage the situation. The location manager was AMAZING and completely saved the day. Thanks a TON for your help!!

This was initially a good experience, the place is new and clean, and the manager is very accommodating and good to work with. However, after being there six months, they increased my rate 25%, and then another nine months later they increased it another 25%. I made arrangements to move out, and then found out that they do not prorate and reimburse for the two weeks that I did not use. Cubesmart relies on the inconvenience and expense of people being able to move things out of a storage unit and takes advantage of their customers by excessively raising rates. Incredibly shady business model.

Completely unacceptable. CubeSmart conflates legal firearms with illegal drugs. From their ‘Rules and Regulations’ document, page 1: “Customer may NOT (their emphasis) … Store guns or ammunition, weapons and/or illegal drugs in the Cube.” As a private entity they have the right to make that decision, and as a private citizen I have the right to point out their action, to refuse to do business with them and to encourage others to do the same. Legal guns are NOT (my emphasis) the same as illegal drugs.

The storage facility out in Brighton was wonderful. It was more than I could’ve imagined. It was so very clean. The storage unit that I purchased was bigger than what I had imagined, and the young lady that waited on me was great. Her name was Jen. JEN was so very helpful and knowledgeable. I made a reservation online, went to the unit and it was a total maze to get too. Very inconvenient. Dead bugs everywhere. I called immediately after viewing the unit, attempted canceling after never even using the unit and they wouldn’t issue a refund. *edit to add*: I did email the below email and was told if I had stayed with them they would have refunded me but because I left they can’t issue a refund ??

The place is clean and love the climate control aspect and the remote app access! The reason for the 4 stars is because when measuring the unit which is a 10x15 it’s actually 10x14 so we have lost a foot of storage.

Truly wonderful, personal customer service! I was contacted by phone after reserving my indoor storage unit with directions on how to access my unit, as well as where to enter the facility. I also received an email with my access code, and a map to locate my unit. My unit was clean, swept and ready for me to move my belongings into with elevator access, along with commercial carts on the main level. I was able to empty my trunk in one trip. Edited to reflect my overall rating for the facility. Great in the beginning but my storage rate increased about 3 months into my rental and I’ve had an unaddressed maintenance request since early November (currently 4/29). My light has not worked inside my unit and I’ve followed up multiple times at this point. Management has been responsive when I have called and apologetic to the issue but they haven’t been able to get someone to complete this. I have since requested another unit to move my things into that has a working light since maintenance is clearly not a priority.

*** update... got a new rental... thus time the manager was a jerk. Told me if I brought in my proof of insurance and locks she could not give me the online rate... so pay $40 or pay $100 extra every month for higher rent. Its right by me and my other storage is there... or I would have gone elsewhere. **** prior review **** The Brighton Facility and its manager are great! Clean, brand new facility. I love the elevator access and carts. The unloading area is even indoors! The indoor climate controlled warehouse feels much safer than outdoor units. My only issue was the online rental agreement. It made you buy a lock and extra insurance. But the manager explained those are only needed for online rentals because they can't verify you have them already. If you bring your lock & insurance policy in, you do not need to pay for theirs. They just have to verify them for liability reasons. So, I filled my agreement in online, then came in to sign it and make the 1st payment. Quick and easy and the extra fees waived! Plus, I got to meet the manager. She is super nice and gave me great moving advice and showed me where my unit and the carts and everything was!

Great customer service, nice facility. However my rate went from $185 to $243 after 4 months with only a few week’s notice (and no, I did not have a temporary promotional rate). Just a warning for those on a budget who cannot easily move their belongings on short notice.
