Checking in at Cubesmart on W. 55th Street didn't start off on the best foot, I was assigned a dusty unit with little to no space due to an obstruction positioned in the center of the unit. Causing limited mobility and space. Upon complaining nothing was initially done, until complaining again, only this time directly to the worker who assigned the unit. They quickly reassigned a new unit, causing some relief, yet and still a bit of stress due to having to move all over again. When doing so, I was required to exchange my driver's license for a key to utilize a dolly, upon completion I was to turn key in, in order to have my driver's license returned. Upon returning to make exchange, the worker who reassigned unit was gone and so was my driver's license. I complained to the only other front desk worker available "Victor" who initially seemed more concerned with telling me "they have no dumpster or trash can and I would have to take any trash with me." However, upon finding out my driver's license was missing he apologized and went into action assessing how to get it back. Days passed before Victor returned saying "he had been contacting another customer who left an unclaimed drivers license and managed to get a hold of them. By the following day my driver's license was returned. Sending a special thanks to VICTOR! ??

Rude customer service - been paying automatically on my unit for 2 years straight without an issue. Apparently my autopay failed one time. No notices, email, or app notification. I find out a month later by a phone call, in which they are unwilling to waive fee despite a long history of good payment. Person on the phone lied they spoke to their manager a general manager within a 1 minute conversation on the phone. Unless this person stopped time to have this chat, it’s a total fabrication. The lying is what gets to me. You can’t simulateously ‘be the manager’ and have also chatted with a general manager about an issue without even having heard anyone or any other voices on the line, and such a short phone call. There’s a million storage facilities. I’ll be taking my business to the others who are not going to try and rack up fees on top of the monthly rent.

*UPDATE* Cubesmart replied to my original review below, apologizing for the issue and asking for my contact information so that they could reach out to me. That was a nice gesture, but unfortunately they never responded to me after I emailed them my contact info. Hopefully that is not a reflection of how they treat all of their customers that have a less than ideal experience :( *ORIGINAL* I had a rodent infestation issue at this location, despite being very careful about how I packed my belongings. There were mouse droppings scattered along the floor, on my sofa, and on my mattress so I had to throw them away. Too bad. Wanted to like this place as it appears very clean and professionally managed from the outset and I know Cubesmart generally has a good reputation.

This place is THE WORST. The staff (especially Kelvin) is RUDE AND unhelpful. I was about 5 mins late locking up my unit one night and got an eviction notice, reading I had about a week to vacate. (The law is 30 days in NY.) After arguing with them and threatening to sue they “allowed” me 30 days. No written warning, no understanding that the new hours they posted were cut by 4 hours and the co had raised monthly dues after cutting hours. Just a general disregard for humans. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!

NOT the storage with best customer service as claimed. Was unable to access my unit at 7:47, even though the access hours says 8pm everywhere. Called customer care many times, the customer care were helpful but the office representative kept repeating he has to leave and was rude. There was no additional time or effort needed on their part since the facility is self-service. I really needed to access my unit due to an emergency flight tomorrow.

Staff is generally kind and helpful! However, I had an absolutely horrible experience with the general manager Jordan Johnson. He was extremely rude, unkind, aggressive, and did not once let me get a single sentence out without speaking over or interrupting me. He also called me a nasty word, and when I asked if I heard him correctly, he did not deny it and told me to call another number and ask for the call recording because he didn't have to answer that question (More likely, he did not want to indict himself any further). He seems like an extremely cynical and arrogant person, pushing me to tears over something so trivial, when none of the other staff members have EVER made me feel this way. This was my first time speaking to him, and I pray that it is the last. Avoid this location at all costs!

EDIT in reply to Owner's Response: Thanks for responding, however, the open and closing times posted on Google and on your website are still incorrect. Please use your time and energy to update this first! Opening is 8:00am and closing is 7:45pm This location unfortunately changed its hours without notice and without updating their website or Google Maps information. I rented a car specifically to move out of my unit, and when I arrived at 7:45 PM, the location was already closed for access. Note that posted hours say 9PM! I needed to pay for another day of car rental and return to the city again. I see this echoed in a few other comments - CubeSmart, please post accurate hours of operation! Also, as another reviewer mentioned, there are some units that appear to have people living in them. I was always wary when accessing my unit alone.

I was able to make a reservation online, and in doing so my first month is free and also included a key lock for free. There is however a $29 plus tax admin fee that is payable upfront. The unit itself is bigger than I expected and the process required to get to my storage unit is straightforward (access code keyed into keypad in elevator). Now for points that need improvement. One, they changed the hours of operation and haven’t posted it on the website or on Google. Used to be 6am to 9pm and now it’s 9am to 8pm. A big inconvenience. Two, the carts are always locked up and the office staff are always shy about unlocking them. The carts are too small and there are rarely enough unlocked and available. And finally, three, the floor of my unit is stained from a drip from the pipes above. I have had to work around the spot. In conclusion, this particular CubeSmart is OK but not great.

This company is obnoxious. I’ve been renting a unit here for over a year. My rent has increased by 33% in that time. If you ever have a failed autopay, they will email and call you every 30 minutes until you correct the payment method. So greedy, impatient, and obnoxious. Most companies will give you a reasonable grace period to pay, but not this one! I’m going to change my unit to a different company ASAP.

I would suggest looking at other options before deciding to rent here. My unit was broken into, and I was told there were no cameras to see who did it. As each floor requires an access code to enter, I asked for them to pull a list of who had entered my floor, and was told they wouldn’t do that as there were “likely too many people”; this was said without even attempting to look into it. I was told that they are under no fault and because of that, not going to help in any way, not even to replace my lock which was taken. I was told to call the cops for assistance. From a customer service perspective, it’s very disappointing, especially as there is no attempt to protect your belongings. and no support if an issue occurs.

Pros- I was able to book a unit quickly very last minute and furthermore they provided me with the necessary information to make my move smooth. They gave me a lock for free, even promised to refund my insurance if I send them my home insurance to them later and provided my details for a shuttle service. Cons- when I went back after moving in- they said they never promised me with any insurance guarantee and even flaked on the shuttle service Overall the storage services are fine, i just didn’t like the quality of the management and inconsistency with information shared to customers.

There are two managers that really keep CubeSmart running effectively that I've seen however I'm only praising one today. Shamar is pleasant, in more ways than one. I came in last week with the worst attitude ever taking my misguided frustrations out on Shamar and the strangest thing happened, Shamar listened with concern . I felt like the worst person in NYC. I promised myself that day to be careful in the presence of strangers, because you just may be interesting an angel.

I visited CubeSmart 444 W. 55th St. location it was very clean facility the customer service was impeccable? Shamar the manager so so professional and not too personal. If all the store managers are like Shamer I see why this is a growing company. Jordan and Alba at the 55th Street store in NYC are very friendly, informative and helpful. I really appreciated the follow up after I made my initial reservation and the follow up call after I signed my contract. The team there in NY were kind and helpful to my daughter when she went to the unit the first time and processed the refund for our own lock that we kept from last year. This is our second year renting with CubeSmart and we expect to use them again next year too.

***Shortened hours AGAIN without changing their website or letting renters know*** Good enough location. The rates creep up over time. Bring your own disc lock to save money. Employees are helpful though management is poor, eg changing the hours without updating their website. Most recently cut hours from 6a-9p down to 8a-8p. Major inconvenience if you've brought things there and planned to pick something up, especially if time sensitive or rented a vehicle.

Staff was helpful and fine. The price that is given on the site increases when you go to book the space plus you pay insurance so it was double what the site originally showed. I brought my own lock thank goodness because they were charging $18.75 for a basic small lock. Come on.

My only annoyance with cubesmart is not the 55th St location itself. Staff was helpful and checking in was a breeze. I did the paperwork in advance but the problem with that is, they date your contract effective when you fill out the paperwork, not when your actual move in date is. I want to fill out the paperwork in advance but I'm not moving in early nor do I want to start paying early. Please fix this cubesmart.

We hired the service of truck + storage unit to start on 03/30/2023. We had to pay everything at the moment of the reservation (03/24/2023). A day before the move, on 03/29/2023, due to an urgency, we had to cancel the service and postpone the move. To cancel the whole thing, they make you do it by parts and took almost an hour after speaking to 5 different agents, as I had to cancel the truck service and the storage unit separately (to book the service it's a one stop shop), which was very annoying... But my surprise came when the storage unit agent tells me that the contract started the day we made the payment (03/24/2023) and they have to charge us for 30 days storage. It's very abusive to do that, when booking they ask you clearly your moving date and anyone would understand that its also the contract's starting date, but they don't make it clear on purpose so they can charge you even if you cancel. This is intolerable and abusive practice and will talk to my bank to dispute the payment.

CubeSmart Self Storage is nearby my neighborhood so it’s convenient way for me to check on my belongings from time to time although unfortunately I was force to downsize storage due to price that seemingly too expensive i was able to exchange storage myself until I can sell the items that force me store away and i can later donate my precious items until then CubeSmart It’s a safe place to store away belongings that you treasure most and need for any future event such as your picnic table and chairs, perhaps also beach chairs and umbrella and things that take up to much space in your home yet have a special meaningful place in your life.

CubeSmart is doing so many things right. For one, the facility on West 55th is clean, safe and very well managed. Unlike some other facilities I've used, I definitely feel good about keeping my things with CubeSmart. But even more important is the personal touch that the team has given me. From Francis L in the Shuttle Dispatch department and his supervisor, to the drivers Dominique and Mosi, to Jordan, Christian and Shana in the West 55th Street office, and not to forget Wandy in the clean-up crew, they have all been so good to me! I was recently awarded Customer 100 in the shuttle service and the whole team went out of their way to make me feel so important. It was great to see all of them working together. I feel really happy to support a business that brings together its employees and takes great care of its clients. I'll be moving more of my things to CubeSmart and all I can say to the other storage facility is "Bye Felicia!".

Store staff at this location refused to provide a simple copy of unit sizes and prices. I understand that there may be sales and promotions at different times, but I came to the physical store now to get general info about options for a de-cluttering project I am working on. At one point a lady offered to read these things aloud to me off of a sheet but didn't offer pen or paper for me to write them down, or let me see her price sheet to scan a copy with my phone. She refused to simply give me a copy of the paper in her hand. What is deceptive about this practice? Is this fair business practice?

This is a great place to store your extra or business related items. This small yet very capable storage unit over on 55th in between 9th and 10th Ave, is just the right price and just the right availability of different sized storage units to fit pretty much everybody's needs, but the only issue I have with this particular unit place is the fact that even though it opens at 6:00 a.m. it closes by 9:00 p.m. which I believe is very very early and just for saying it sake I think that it would be better if they were a 24-hour 365 unit instead of having opening and closing hours. But in absolute honesty it is a secure location for the needs of people having storage issues but again the fact that you can't get in there 24 hours a day to move or put more stuff into your unit is a big big turn off

This location is wonderful. Moved in last night. I love that in NYC there’s a safe & clean garage to drive right up into. Additionally, there is staff available for so many hours if you need help. Cube smart is doing pretty well, I’ve been renting there for a couple years now while they’ve been developing their operations in the relatively new facility I’m hoping eventually I’ll be able to check in electronically without manually entering a key code via NFC on my phone and that they will install cellphone/battery mini charging lockers Lately one of the elevators has been making some weird sounds, I’m sure they will remedy that soon enough I would also love it if cubesmart could be of more assistance with inventory systems and selling/donating unwanted items/materials I have been considering complementing my storage operation with Makespace Storage who says they will pick up things from cubesmart and store them at their warehouse in New Jersey

It was so great I even shed a tear or two from the preferential treatment I received from the staff. From everyone on the phone to everyone in person, I can honestly say this is the best customer service I've received in a really long time. JC not only saved the day (and my sanity) by helping me load and unload my things from the apartment to the van to the storage unit, he treated me with respect, kindness, and generosity. Clean and neat but occasionally you'll find homeless people sleeping inside the storage unit and unfortunately they only have cameras when you first come off the elevator so you're on your own with the rest also they are very expensive they seem to hike up the prices every 3 months good luck with having someone answer the phone the answer is always that they are short staffed even after 7 years

I paid for a locker on May 19, 2021. Alex from customer service said my package will be picked no one called or came to pickup. The next day May 20, 2021. Storage Unit Manager called when we asked about the pick up, we were told we had to call the truck company ourselves and schedule the pickup and that they need 2 days notice. We called the truck company it went direct to voicemail. As I am writing this review no one has contacted us from the truck company. Yesterday May 20, 2021, I called CubeSmart as soon as I got connected and made my complaint the call was disconnected, and after all attempts failed because they blocked my line so I can't call from my phone. What kind of company does this? I my opinion they are only interested in taking your payment and then provide bogus service. Their actions are no different from scammers. AVOID THEM BE WARNED.

This was my first time getting a storage unit and I had the best experience at CubeSmart. They were the first place I went to and LOVED the tour and attention I got. Since I was new to the process, I decided to also check out the Manhattan Mini Storage nearby where I was quoted prices double and triple what CubeSmart had told me for the same size storage. MOTHS BEWARE!! I rented a storage unit at CubeSmart W 55th Street for 1 month as my leases did not align, so my entire apartment was in storage for only 17 days. On the 17th day (April 15, 2021), I hired movers to move my belongings from my storage unit to my new apartment. However, they were unable to move my belongings as moths infested my unit and they would not allow my items in their truck!! I still owed my movers, which was essentially them looking at my unit and telling me that they will never be able to work with me going forward, which is a shame because I have used them during 3 prior moves. Later that day, an exterminator arrived to assess the situation and said the moths were adult moths from a neighboring unit. I was finally able to get my items out and into my new apartment but I continue to find moths, Additionally, someone spilt a soda in front of my unit, and it leaked into my unit and stained part of my couch. As you could imagine, there was a sticky area with a ton of dead moths - GROSS!!!!!! However, I would like to note that throughout this process Jordan, the manager, was very helpful and attentive.

Very disappointed with this storage facility. When the first day came it was wonderful they were amazing. Afterwards the service was low level. I kept complaining that the pin code locked door is broken everyone walks in all walks of life homeless people harassing you if you are selling something. People approaching you like they want to rob you. This is disgusting how to is company is running there business when our belongings are under there care without any type of security. If my storage unit is broken into I will be in court because I complained and complained numerous times. I picked this place because it was new and around the block from my apartment. What a disappointment. I do not recommend this place to anyone. You are told to call corporate when you complain and are not given a phone number . Disgraceful!!!!!

Stay away from this place. My clothes got ruined from infestation and the team doesn't really care about it. They push you away because they don't want to take the responsibility of such a thing. Very irresponsible business to deal with. In the beginning they are extremely nice to you till you move in after that they don't care at all. Every year your rate will increase but the quality of service goes down. Most of the time place stinks from bad odors. Management is a disaster from local to district they never respond to you in timing maner. It's been weeks that am dealing with them and is not coming to end and am in the middle of moving. Make a favor to yourself stay away, you don't want that headache in your life bringing infestation home

The location (near public transportation) and price attracted me, but the customer service hooked me. They were always friendly - and not in an overly phony way - just genuinely friendly. Always welcoming, greeting, and helpful - from what I’m assuming was the front desk managers, to regular front desk workers, to the guy who drives the van (I would always see him and he always very nice). I wish I could remember their names! To top it off, the place was kept CLEAN! Having my things here made life easier and comfortable during the time I really needed it most. I no longer need the unit, plus need to save money through this pandemic. But if I ever need storage again I will DEFINITELY go to and HIGHLY RECOMMEND CubeSmart. On wee hours of January 11 , 2020 , I was discharged from New York Presbyterian Hospital . I then went to Cubesmart on West 55 street where I have a storage unit to continue to work on organizing & making room for some other personal belongings I will be bringing to the storage unit . I started feeling what I would later be told was an adverse reaction to my pain medication . That’s what they call it . It’s extreme dizziness , etc., I did not know what else to do so I sat down in my storage unit drifting off into an unconscious state . At some point I was awake when the General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson appeared in front of my storage unit with a fellow employee of Cubesmart . Mr Jordan Johnson looked at me & said you know this is not the first time I come up here , I was up here earlier & caught you asleep in your unit , I’m terminating your rental . I just looked at Mr Jordan Johnson & did not say a word as I have been at this Cubesmart for about a year & have witnessed Mr Jordan Johnson do many , many , many things that are tyrannical in nature & absolutely not right or consistent with professional behavior. These things I’m referring to is removing the sofas from the office area . What makes Mr Jordan Johnson feel that he could just remove these sofas as punishment because someone sat there too long . That he may not like or approve of ? Suppose a client cannot stand for long periods of time because of a recent surgery or other medical condition ? Suppose a client or employee becomes ill or injured & must sit comfortably until help arrives ? Or a pregnant client needs to sit as she waits ? All of this is irrelevant to this General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson. General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson stated to me , “ you know that this is not the first time I come up here , I caught you sleeping. your rental is terminated. In his rush to judgment he ruled out any & all possibility that I could of passed out because of a legitimate medical situation . A more appropriate response from General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson should of been to try to wake me up , ask me am I ok ? Do I need medical assistance ? Instead he leaves & returns later . And this is not surprising to me that his response to what he encountered an individual passed out in a unit , and his rush to judgment he is sleeping , could of proven fatal to someone else . Another situation where General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson’s response could proven fatal was when a female neighbor of mines at cubesmart feared another fellow renter , this other renter creeped her out !!! She feared for her safety around him . This fellow renter I must admit is “very” odd as he spends many hours in front of his storage unit just talking to himself. He also barricades himself in the area using the metal ladders . Mr Jordan Johnson should have terminated his rental for creeping out a female renter , on top of the obvious talking to himself etc., I read through the reviews & seen another situation just like mines that the renter had a medical situation that General Manager Mr Jordan Johnson refused to acknowledge. So this is not a first

Manager ( will not use names) would not let me. access one bag to bring home from storage at 945pm, there was 15 minutes left but I was treated dis and I have started removing all of my storage, avoid this place. you don't need to go through what I went through. corporate still hasn't called me since last week, I was told in 48 hours I will be contacted. also to add more insult to injury, I received a monthly increase of 13 dollars more today. I will cancel this week.

I don't even know where to begin regarding the extent of helpfulness and friendliness of the staff at this location. EVERYONE always have a great attitude and patience for everything! But I must make a special shout-out for JC, who does pick-ups/moving in general. He is one of a kind for sure. My building was having issues with the elevators so I asked if he could do a REAL early run on a Saturday morning. He called the office to make all the necessary arrangement the night before and got in early just to help me move. That's just one of the many examples of going that extra mile in customer service! Rita Revander & Sekou performed excellent customer service on my behalf when I had accidentally discarded my storage lock key. She would have gone above and beyond the normal call of duty the night before but the responsibility fell to another who disregarded my request. The fact that she would have accomplished this task in her colleagues place put her in my mind as someone who knows about customer service and who knows how to treat someone right. I strongly recommend this Cube Smart! Not only is it spacious and new, the people who work there are phenomenal. When I first rented a storage space there, I (a girl who’s 5’5 and not particularly strong) showed up all by myself with a bunch of boxes and Henrry, after expeditiously checking me in, went out of his way to help me move the boxes into my storage unit. When I went back a month later with an issue, I was greeted by Rita and Jordan (the store manager) who quickly helped me sort out the intricacies of my problem. They also helped one of my friends rent a storage unit within 10 minutes. They were very quick and efficient! Again, I highly recommend this cube smart - the quality of service is truly superb.

Well this place was rated #1 in the past 7 years for customer service but after my experience that should be reconsidered. So I was given a termination letter after two situations which led to it and I accepted it. Well after a doctor's visit I found out that I developed a side effect from meds for my condition. And I was relieved I found out. I concluded that after I spoke to management that this would've gotten resolved and they would be understanding. Well I contacted them about this. To my disappointment they didn't care or even wanted to discuss ways to work this out. It was rather cold and they didn't want anything to do with it. In addition I was charged a week later and was sent email asking why I moved my things out??? Wait so after all that and being dismissive these people charged me and was oblivious to why? Also the head manager Jordan Johnson (African American guy, muscular) said to me on that day and gave me this lecture about "how it was my fault they lost a client due to my incident and made numerous accusations on my incident " He was irritated I get that but also was childish and petty. I've been a manager in numerous companies and rule of thumb is you do not belittle or speak to a client in any discerning matter whatsoever. This grown man acted like he was in high school pointing the finger at me for something I medically could not control. Then he says he understood...understood what? Cause at that time I didn't know something was happening to my body. Fortunately I found a company that understood and is compassionate to my situation. I suggest Smart Cubes send their staff to seminars working with how they treat their customers instead of acting out. So I give this place 2/5 stars

This place fully deserves the sterling rating it has. Moving is at best an ordeal and at worst a living hell, but Henry and the woman who was working the front desk with him at the time (unfortunately failed to write down her name, but she was on the afternoon shift on August 3rd) have that rare ability in the NY moving industry to actually care about helping you and making it work. After an 8 hour move out of a fifth floor walkup, I arrived at cubesmart pretty frayed and on my last nerve. Henry immediately got me sorted out and was extremely quick and flexible in getting me a larger space when I had too much stuff for the cube I originally reserved. The willingness to just work with you and not hide behind bureaucracy made this an exceptional experience. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

This place was a gem. Really. I have nothing to compare it to but, it was great to find a clean and affordable solution right in mid-town. Extremely courteous staff and really excellent facility. Small units are priced right but, are also on upper floors and high up so you have to climb a ladder to access. No worries if you've just got normal sized stuff. Two super convenient parking/unloading bays as well. I can't imagine doing better for the money and the location.

I received the best customer service at Cubesmart. I struggled to find a cab and get in time to the facility with my storage stuff,by the time i got there they had already started closing and i was 20 mins over there legit time but DeNisha H and Henrry R really helped me out. They opened the gates and accommodated my stuff and were extremely patient, kind and professional. I would strongly recommend this location out of my personal experience. Thanks DeNisha and Henrry i really appreciate your help and calm composure the other day! Wish you all the best.

This place is Disneyland because all of the employees are so nice, helpful, and happy. Juan Carlos (JC!) was especially kind. The Cube storage facility is brand new, super clean, organized and well-run. The staff including the manager and particularly JC could not have been friendlier and more helpful. JC met me at my at Manahattan Mini Storage unit with the Cube van and helped me move my things to my new unit at Cube . They were all friendly and their customer service was incomparable. Also, i should mention that the reason I moved to Cube was the monthly rent was considerably less expensive than what I was paying elsewhere. I recommend them highly.

They care not about your interest, they only care about your money. I called them to get a quote for a month. The representative asked for my phone number, I asked why and she said to make the reservation. I indicated I just want a price quote and she confirmed she will do so. I got one and she offered to send it to me by mail. She asked for my number again otherwise she cannot send the quote so I gave it to her. And to my surprise I received a reservation with payment obligations (and wrong dates too actually). Well such business practices says it all: They care not about your interest, they only care about your money.

If you are looking to rent a unit, work with Rita. She is great! She is very helpful and answered all my questions (which there were quite a few). She also took the time to show me a few storage units so I knew exactly which one I needed. Also a nice perk is they have a driver, for free. He will drive the van to your apartment and then to the storage unit for free within a certain amount of time. All you have to do is load your stuff it in the van and off load it. There is also a distance requirement that you need to be within to get this, but I forget the exact distance.

Jonathan Johnson, an assistant manager took an inadvertent offense and gave me much excuse to not help me get a storage unit and asked me to wait 5 minutes and subsequently went into a meeting. I had to return to get help and he referred me to another junior rep. Other reps could not believe he told me that the promotion rates does not apply to larger storage units and that no storage units were available when there were many as was obvious on the floors. Otherwise the rest of the staff are generally very friendly. The assistant managers seem overwhelmed with work and were ignoring those waiting. I am otherwise very satisfied with my storage unit.

Check-in was fast, everything to sign was electronic. Sekou helped me and he was really nice. Got my unit - the entire place looks brand new. Just recently moved in to their 5 x 5 x 4 cube with the help of valet service. JC, the driver of the valet service was on time, helpful and considerate. I had to move a light weight mattress to the storage, having said that it is still not an easy job for one person. Without even asking for it, JC helped lifted the mattress to the storage unit, even gave suggestion on arranging my inventory - where his 10 years of experience certainly helped. The reception Jordan was also professional - patiently answer my questions. Great experience overall and would 100% recommend.

prices are ok, place is clean, BUT homeless and near-destitute people have figured out how to get up onto the floors where the units are. Twice now I have encountered men wandering around or even sleeping inside a cube, one arm hanging down! They must ride up with a client who has an access code and then climb into an empty cube. Or just roam around, looking for an unlocked unit. No real security. The elevators need to be manned by someone who just runs the elevator, security cameras need to be more numerous and monitored; lights should NOT shut off when sensors don't detect activity! More emergency call buttons need to be installed.

I first liked it here. Moving in was very easy. However, after 4 months they raised my rent by 60%. I moved out again and they did not even offer a service to dispose of a paper box. They did not have any garbage bin in the building. That was very annoying.

The manager Rita is super helpful and friendly. She set me up with my unit and helped me schedule a free valet to move in and actually made it a fun experience! It didn’t end there though, JC the valet driver picked me up, helped with all my stuff, and was also incredibly helpful and fun to ride with back to the unit. I really can’t say enough good things about the experience. Highly highly recommend going with this location if you’re on the fence. Couldn’t ask for more. Our experience first started off to seem rocky because when we arrived the elevators were broken. Due to our storage unit being on the third floor it took us a longer time then intended to get everything packed in. Fortunately the customer service from there employee Delilah made everything better and worth it. Not only did she allow us to stay after closing to get finished with packing our stuff, she also stayed waaay past her time to leave and allowed us to use their dollys to move the remaining of our stuff that didn't fit down the street into our apartment while keeping an eye on the rest of our stuff during multiple trips back and forth. She was amazing and a life saver. Her customer service skills and compassion for us went above and beyond. She's definitely the main reason why we will continue using this cube smart! Give this woman a raise! :)

Best storage facility on the planet!! JC was terrific. He picked us up, helped load, unload and store our belongings! He was so helpful and accommodating. Excellent customer service! Delilah was so helpful with getting my storage unit set up! She was so lively and friendly, and made sure everything was set and ready to go for my move in. CubeSmart has really nice facilities where you’ll feel comfortable storing things. They have great prices, especially for students! So college students looking to store things over the summer: don’t go anywhere else! Some of the most reasonably priced storage I’ve ever seen! They also offer moving materials at a great price (I’ve seen some of these storage places charge $50 for large boxes but you can get several boxes of all sizes as well as tape and plastic wrap and such in a special package for the same price). There is such a thing as storing your stuff without having to break the bank! CubeSmart is definitely the place to store your belongings. Highly recommend.

This place is AMAZING!!! The facility is affordable, modern, well-lit, safe, carpeted and (most importantly) VERY CLEAN. The people who work here are also FANTASTIC. There is a young woman named Kim at the front desk who is incredibly professional, smart, helpful and patient with customers (I just moved to NYC from DC had a lot of dumb questions; kept missing my appointments with her, etc.). Plus, they have FREE valet van service (and Juan Carlos, the driver, is a sweetheart) to help move your things to the facility. Having had storage lockers at U-haul and other places in the past, CubeSmart greatly exceeded my expectations. It is worth every penny for the service and convenience. ADVICE: Get a unit on one of the higher floors, and tip JC if he carries your boxes because I don't think that's really his job (he's just nice). Gracias CubeSmart!

In one word, Superb! I had the greatest experience at this location. Brian and Jessica made me feel very welcomed. Within minutes after reserving online I received a call from Brian to confirm the terms; very impressive. They were very professional and pleasant. The location is clean, well-lit as it was very bright where the storage units are, and it smells good and clean. I was also very happy with the price for the unit that I reserved. Also, my reservation process was very smooth, adding to the reception that I received from Brian and Jessica. Since then, I've had a second experience using the valet service. The driver's name is JC and he was so very helpful to me. He possesses a very pleasant personality, and I'm sure that this quality is appreciated and holds true as expressed in the other reviews praising his work ethic. I will need the valet service in the future and can only hope that I am lucky enough to be scheduled with JC. If it were up to me, I would preferably request his service, but I can only hope that the other drivers are equally as nice. A shout out to Kim and Christopher who I also encountered upon my second visit, they were also very professional and pleasant. All in all, everyone was very efficient in the customer service provided. I am a very happy and satisfied customer and will not hesitate to recommend CubeSmart! Very nice, new facility. Sign up was quick (be aware that "first month free" is usually balanced by one time administration costs and you do have to have insurance, either your home owner or theirs which is about $12 a month). If you need some storage space in a convenient area of Manhattan at a good price, then this is it.

Just signed a lease for a storage unit and the process couldn't have been easier! Chris and John in the leashing office were SO helpful and kind. We used their free shuttle service to bring our items to our unit, and our driver JC was amazing! I’m completely blown away by this place. They are the leader in customer service, convenience, and ease. Honestly- after 10 years living in NYC this is a rarity to find. Juan Carlos Rios was my shuttle driver and he was absolutely the most efficient, helpful, kind, and professional move of my life! He’s easygoing, and got the job done in under 1 hour! Juan Carlos went above and beyond to make my moving experience as pleasant as possible. He arrived early at the meeting location and assisted in helping to load the van with my belongings. I was not initially convinced that I was making the right choice in switching storage facilities from Manhattan Mini Storage to CubeSmart after seeing my actual locker. What I did not know until the last second was that not all the cubes are uniform (the way they are in manhattan mini storage) and each cube is not made the same way. The way one cube looks inside may be slightly different than the cube right next door to it due to random pipes, columns, beams, fencing for the top of the ceiling etc. Also what I did not know until the last second was that when you reserve a space at Cubesmart you randomly get assigned a specific cube that you may be less than thrilled with after seeing the actual interior of it. Juan Carlos my driver went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my storage unit. The manager Ting seemed a bit robotic when helping my sign my lease. I feel like he needs a good straight shot of whiskey before dealing with customers. It wouldn't hurt if he cracked a smile.

Contract process was easy and smooth. Christoper who helped us on the site was very nice and easy to talk with. As first step I called the number on the website(assume it was general sales no.) to get some info, but this just did not work in time. I could not get hold of anyone. So we went to directly the site and got the info, and an unit to rent. After having signed the contract, they kept calling me back, so it was confusing.
