DO NOT USE CUBESMART Absolutely terrible customer service. The managers are no help whatsoever. Their elevators don’t work. I lost out on over $500 from my businesss because of their elevators not working. The managers did nothing. I withheld payment until I could speak to a district manager. They lied and said they sent an email to the DM. Then I checked back a week later and they said the never contacted the DM. Then the DM made me pay the late fee anyways even though they delayed me on purpose. Store 0599 and whoever the District manager is are incompetent, malicious and not accommodating at all. Even during the slow season of my business, the one day you have some work, the elevator doesn’t work and you are screwed with no credit to your account AND they wouldn’t even waive the late fee even though they lied and said they were handling the situation. STAY AWAY!

The garage door failed multiple times during my rental. I was locked inside this CubeSmart for 14hrs overnight and into the morning on the day I had to move. Called the police, corporate, and the manager…nobody came and their “emergency” exit codes didn’t work. It really is not worth the headache. The manager didn’t really care either, when I finally got a hold of him. Just kind of a bad experience. 14hrs stuck inside really sucked.

I have been a client for a few years and have never had a problem with my unit. I visited my storage to pick up my Christmas tree and Christmas decorations last week and was completely surprised to find all my items with mouse or rat poop all over them. My Christmas decor was ruined, my tree which was in a tree bag had what looks like a nest on the side and the bag had mouse poop everywhere. My daughter’s baby blankets were ruined. When I tell you there was mouse poop everywhere, it was everywhere. We spoke to management and were surprised to hear the response. We called customer support and was assured that the district manager would call us within 48 hours. It’s been 8 days and we haven’t heard from anyone. We do not keep food in our unit, and, we DO NOT have rodents at home. We will be moving our belongings very soon. If you are thinking of this place, find another. The customer service which is supposed to be the best was by far the worst.

First I want to leave the positive part of this review and acknowledge Serena who is so helpful, knowledgeable and actually cares. She is always welcoming when I go to my storage unit, always asking if everything is ok and to come to her if I ever have issues. Her personality alone just gives positivity. I never experienced this type of customer service at a cubesmart and anytime I had issues she ensured they were resolved or she would get me an answer. Aside from this the location is convenient and clean they just need to fix their gate but its still safe as no one can get in any units or floors without a code. But here is the reason why I only left 3 stars and if it wasn’t for Serena I would’ve left 2 . I was at cubesmart in the middle of the week as I had a concern about my bill that I notice was a rate increase. I tried to go to the office but I didn’t see anyone and waited in my car and heard a loud voice in the garage as it was another employee named Shawn, this is my 3rd time noticing he is always leaving the office unattended for a long length of time and customers are just waiting and looking for help. This usually happens when Serena is not in. This time she was not. However, I went into the office and asked Shawn about my increase as it was a surprise to me and he didn’t know what to say he all he kept saying to me was well we emailed you and I kept telling him and showing him my emails from cubesmart and none say anything about an increase which caused me to become frustrated. He kept repeating my mailing addresses saying I was emailed there and I had to keep reminding him that my mailing address is not an email its a physical address which he should know if he is reading the screen. He seems very incompetent and doesn’t seem like he cares. I asked him if he can get in touch with the manager to ask for a decrease and or follow up with me about the reason of my increase since I didn’t receive a notice via email as Shawn mentioned I should’ve. He ensured me that he would call his manager after I leave and give me a call back before he left to let me know the outcome. I never received a call or an update. Also when I checked the mail the same day I saw the postcard with the rate change notice. A few days went by and I still never heard back from Shawn as he promised. So I drove back to the cubesmart which is wasted gas and time when he could’ve kept his word by calling me back. I noticed Serena was in the office and I spoke with her as I was upset. She informed me that there was a $21 increase and it should’ve came in the mail and it is never sent via email something Shawn clearly didn’t know. Also she saw then notes in my profile but Shawn never followed up. So she contacted her manager to ask if they can at least cut the increase in half but also ensured me that she can’t make any promises her manager will approve. Which is fine but she tried and that is all I ask well this morning Serena followed up and it was approved. Not only did she keep her word but she went over and beyond. Also, I was considering cancelling my account and moving elsewhere to another storage facility based on my experience with Shawn, his lack of knowledge and him not keeping his word and lack of customer service. Just seems like he there and thinks its just a paycheck for him which is clearly visible. It would be good to keep employees at this location who actually care and go over and beyond. Shawn seems to not care and I am not the only customer who feels this way as another tenant moved to another floor a few weeks ago and Shawn never changed his code and he only had access to his old unit and floor and could not move up. He was looking for Shawn when I arrived and said he just disappeared and has been looking for him over 30 min. Serena was not in that day nor was anyone else. It would be good if its just one person to leave a sign or note on the door to inform ppl.

Broken gates - whats next? ELEVATORS, DOOR LOCKS? They don't care about your security or customer service. If something doesn't work they just say 'You are renting square footage' not locks, doors, elevators, gates... After countless hours on the phone they have been extremely unhelpful. I hardly ever give one star ratings but there are certain lines that just don't need to be crossed. The manager at this storage location definitely cross those lines. She is one of the most unprofessional managers that I have ever met in my life. Her customer service skills are horrible and she either needs training or needs to find a new job in another field.

I have to agree with ALL the reviews! The staff at CubeSmart are friendly during move in. However, once moved in the unprofessionalism is unhinged. My fiancé and I rented at CubeSmart for 11 months and were subjected to three price increases. Serena and Keysha are both very hostile, unpleasant, unapproachable service providers. Due to the harassment from the staff I moved out- my fiancée decided he would rent in his name to remove the target off of us. During his move in Serina advised my fiancée “no one associated with her can rent from here she’s banned” which was false. So he moved in anyway- The day before thanksgiving I stopped by our unit- Serina as always- loud and unpleasant; obnoxiously started targeting me via loud speaker. She proceeded to leave the office and make her way to my storage unit to ask me “is there a problem” and then she threatened to evict me. I came to the office to be “evicted” and she wouldn’t allow me into the office. She advised Keysha was about to “clock out” I assume to get physically with me. After that experience my fiancée asked me to stop going to storage facility alone. Within two months of him renting a unit in his name: he was retaliated by way of price increase. So he downsized- after downsizing we cleared out the larger unit. The staff was calling us so much we changed our cell phone numbers. The STAFF CALLED MY MOMS HOUSE PHONE: explaining the larger unit was unlocked. My Mom advised the staff it’s unlocked because it’s vacant. Explain to us why Serina locked accessed to the PAID smaller Unit and attempted charge for the larger Unit when she was advised in office that we vacated the larger unit? During a recent visit I had to call the emergency line and get an emergency code to access my PAID UNIT! 11 months, 3 units, 3 prince increases, a threat to fight me, and 1000 unwanted calls later, I am writing this review to say rent anywhere else but here.

I want to start off by saying that I switched from one cubesmart location to another and had an overall good experience at the first site but not the second. The young lady Mary at the first site was very nice, she was pleasant and smiled. Keisha at the second location the complete opposite,was not friendly, somewhat rude and did not make me feel like she really wanted to help. She made me feel like I was bothering her and made me feel like I was gonna rob the place. She should not be working in Customer service with an attitude like this and I will be speaking to the higher ups !

Signing up for the unit was a breeze. No complaints. It wasn't until I was out of the promo rates ended that things became a problem. I tried submitting all of the below on the feedback pack on the moveout survey but it is limited by character count. So maybe someone will see it here instead. Rates kept increasing. I understand the rate is never locked for an indefinite period of time, however the amount of each increase and the frequency at which the rate increases is not reasonable. I called and inquired about this and was basically told "it is what it is and it will continue to go up every few months". I eventually found a unit with a competitor of yours that, after the promotional period is up, 1/3 of the price I was paying. Upon my clearing out of the unit, I went down to the office to close out the unit. The door to the office was locked from inside the garage, and when the employee (who after seeing images in other reviews appears to be Keisha/Keysha) eventually opened up the door asked me "what I needed" and I advised I needed to close out the unit, I was told "not today" and she walked towards the desk and asked what my unit number was. This was 30 minutes prior to closing (5:30pm, facility closes at 6:00pm), and when I asked whey this couldn't be done today I was told "I have to close up here", as if it was my problem that I tried to conduct business during business hours. If I had shown up a 5:59 and asked for assistance, sure I could understand. But when the facility is only open until one hour after the typical work day ends, you have to expect people to need assistance during that hour. I asked about proration for the last month and was told that was not something that Cubesmart does. I should have read the agreement closer to realize this, however it wouldn't have changed the fact that I needed to close out the unit when I did as my schedule did not permit any other dates. That's nearly a month of rent down the drain. Oh well. My experience signing up for Cubesmart and even changing units was overall very pleasant. It wasn't until I inquired about the excessive rate increases and move out assistance that I was met with extreme unprofessionalism. These interactions are enough for me to not ever consider Cubesmart for future storage needs. I have both worked and trained customer service employees in my past experiences and these interactions are not how customers should be treated, especially when paying a premium for the service.

We reserved a parking spot at the CubeSmart for a month. Two days into the month, a moving truck broke the gate, so we are now forced to call customer service anytime we want to move our car before 8am or after 6pm because we need to get a combination for a padlock….this combo sometimes changes every single day. Then 1 week into our reservation, our brand new bronco is hit by a moving truck because cubesmart thought it would be a good idea to have the spot right next to us (both our spot and the spot next to us are compact spots by the way) be reserved for the moving truck. We have to climb over the passenger side in order to get in and out from the drivers side. We have asked multiple times to be connected to the regional manager and we’ve been told that Jerry was going to call us back, but it’s been radio silent.

Second the space was ready and clean and I was well informed. The only down side was having a space on the third floor and having to deal with sharing elevators to load stuff. I opted for contact-less sign up, which went great. Within minutes I had confirmation that my unit was ready for me to move in and I was given my access code & unit number. When I arrived, I noticed no one was in the office even though the hours being listed as 830 to 5. I arrived at my unit to find that no lock had been installed despite paying $20 for it and that the only thing securing my unit was a zip tie. I continued to check the office but no one ever came in and there was no way to contact anyone about the location. Sunday same thing. No one was there at all but hours listed they were open. To make matters worse, I ended up trapped on the 4th floor in a faulty elevator with no fan and no one around/no cell signal. I hit the help button because it was hot as hell and I couldn’t get out. I was told that help is on the way but after not hearing anything I decided to try to text my mom who lived nearby. I kept screaming and was heard by a lady who told me someone was downstairs looking for their daughter. My text had gone through to my mom who arrived 20 min after my initial call via the elevator for help. My mother called 911 and was told they never received a call from anyone else regarding my situation. I got a call about 30 min in and was able to stay on the phone and talk through getting out. Fire dept arrived within a few min. The door was so jammed that after trying with no luck for another 30 min to open the doors they had to rescue me through the hatch from the top of the elevator and pull me up out of the shaft. The whole ordeal took over an hour and no one from the building (technician or otherwise) ever showed up.

I recommend anyone needing a storage unit in the No Libs / Fishtown / New Kensington / Old Kensington neighborhoods to use this location. It is new and clean as well as in a great location. Awful procedures for late night access. Everything closes at once instead of staggering access limitations to keep people from being locked inside and operators take a ridiculously long time to respond to calls.

Easy rental process, clean and feels secure, convenient location with easy access and plenty of parking. And a wonderful manager Serina! She was super sweet, efficient and helpful, and even stayed a few minutes past the office closing hours to make sure everything checked out for me.

Friendly - Easy to access - Understanding of life situations ??. I am new in town and between places, the staff encouraged me and did not negativity judge me. Living at a shelter with only a few items at a time, having that storage unit was everything to me to be able to keep my items safe and easy to get when I need and put items in that I didn't need for the moment but can come back for soon ?
