I don't not have a good experience. Within a month my price went up to $120 for a 5x5 unit. Then I was overcharged and had to wait about a week to get my money back!!!! And there is hardly never anyone in the office in Portsmouth!!!! Go to another company!!!!

I am only giving five stars because of my experience with a specific location and that would be the Greenwood location in Portsmouth, Virginia. I actually have been disappointed with Prime's customer service itself because the constant random raising of fees but I will say that the employees at this location have all helpful and polite and I've always appreciate THEIR service in the years I stored there. I gave them two stars because they were okay until they randomly went up on the rent. It went from 69 a month to them randomly emailing me that it's going up to 80 something dollars for this month, then next month it's going to go up again to 103. I know it is their prerogative to go up for no reason, but the only reason why I'm with greenwood storage was for the decent priced rent UPDATE: The district manager was kind enough to reach out to me to resolve the issue at hand. The way the email was sent, I read it the wrong way. There were two different numbers on the email, and I assumed one of them said it went up as of right now by $10. Then, next month, it will go up again. They did give a 30-day notice before the up charge. The district manager was kind enough to give me a little discount on the up charge for the miscommunication, and I am grateful that she reached out to me. I decided to bump up their rating because of the kindness that was given to me for the miscommunication

This is the worst storage they over charge me and they over charge late fee the units are not worth it I was paying almost 270 for a 10x10 when they're 165 to 185 sometimes even cheaper they close to early so when I get off work I can't even get in I wouldn't recommend this place to nobody I'm very upset I even choose this place the restroom is locked when they leave most places you can still use the restroom when it's closed because it's on the outside of the office it's just a mess don't go here if you can help it

Management and staff here are amazing!!! Relocating is always a hassle especially from 500 miles away. I coordinated movers to have my house hold good moved from NY to this storage unit in Portsmouth. On there arrival I needed a bigger unit, which end up being to small and I had to get a second unit. Let me start with the positive stuff first. SOME of the staff were very nice and professional. The storage unit was very clean. Now to why I put 3 stars: First of all, the lady was working on February 12, 2024 that got off at 1800 was rude af. We had to use the another door to walk through because my code wasnt working. She looked up my information as if I didn't have a storage unit there. Then, she kept complaining that I was using the other door because my code was not working. It clearly has a sign on the automatic doors that says the doors may not automatically open. She proceeded to tell me that the code worked when she put it in. I went back and tried it 3 times and it didn't work. So I got all my stuff out of there. Then she asked me how much longer I will be because she gets off work at 1800. Second, it is not 24 hours. If you need to get in there after their business hours, you need to call ahead of time and ask for permission to have 24 hour access. But that is only a one time thing. From what I was told on the phone. Third, I had to pay for a full month price when I only needed the unit for a week. Fourth, whoever numbered them units need to redo it. The staff member and myself were lost. I felt like I was in a maze. I will not be going back ever again.

We've had this storage unit since we fell on hard times about 12 years ago, but those days are far behind us. And now we are completely moved out. We did find some mold on some items which didn't make sense because of the climate control. But overall it was a good unit and good communication from the staff. I will recommend this unit to all, but try not to have it for 12 years.

Good pricing for the 1st 4 months, however the merchant started charging me for insurance after providing them a copy several times via email. When disputing it they continue to brush me off. I was told several times I did not have to pay a late fee to later be charged. I understand pricing goes up however I started with 90.00 a month to 200.00 a month for almost a year and half. Finally MOVED my items out. Never will get my business again.

Our stay with Greenwood Storeage was about a year and a half. My experience with Greenwood Storeage was a 100% pleasant. Our large unit was clean and very nice. Easy entry into the building with my personal code. I found it safe. The staff on-site always kind, professional and helpful. Making my payment by phone and on-site was easy. Upon emptying out my unit, I found them as always friendly, professional and helpful. Greenwood Storeage Portsmouth Virginia will be my only choice for any and all future storage needs. I read where some people complain about the rent prices. First of all , you get what you pay for. My household items stored here are kept in a clean unit inside a secure storage building. Hot nor cold weather will affect my stuff here at Greenwood because it's climate controlled. Second, yes our rent for our unit was increased, but everything in America went up as well. Our increase was well worth it, because my stuff was safe! You can find less safe, outside units anywhere. And your stuff can melt ,or break in weather. Be safe folks think about who's caring for your things when you are away. Greenwood Storeage has cameras in every hallway. Signing one Happy Customer.

Came in to just price some units out. We were greeted by Ms. Charlotte. Based on her fantastic customer service alone, we decided we didn't need to check anywhere else. The facility is really nice as well. But Charlotte was really the main reason.

This place is spotless but that's about it. We've had a small 5 x 8 unit for 3 years. Recently they raised rates by $30 a month. Our bill went from paying $44 with a military discount to $68 with a military discount. They stated the additional money per month was an admin fee. $300 extra per year for a customer an auto pay whom already has their own property insurance through their homeowner's policy. Absolutely ridiculous. Found a slightly larger unit for $20 less just down the street and promptly vacated. If you've got money to throw away, by all means, this is the place to do it at.

I got a new storage unit and within two months, they raised my rate. It increased to almost to DOUBLE the original monthly cost, within only 2 months! I understand they have to raise rates, but this is ridiculous. I called to inquire why my bill had doubled, and the woman working the phone, Sabrina, was extremely rude about it. I’m very disappointed.
