The ladies at Cube Smart were the absolute best! So friendly and helpful despite the fact that we had an urgent need for a storage unit so we ended up in their office maybe 20 minutes before closing on a Friday evening before a holiday weekend. In fact they were the only ones still open that evening and we got a very good deal on a unit when they could have taken that opportunity to charge more since we were desperate. I appreciate the understanding and cheerful attitudes from both ladies in the office that evening more than I can put into words. Definitely recommend going to CubeSmart on Rt 3 in Culpeper. 100% satisfied!

Our lot isn’t monitored. The front gate is never locked and our storage unit smells like mildew yet they raise our prices every six months.

Unit had a car in it prior to us renting it. Oil and trans fluid all over the floor. When I contacted the manager, she said, we can’t offer you another unit for the same price, even though we have three sites where there are open 10x20 units. We don’t “price match!” It’s the same company, managing three different locations out of one location. “We can refund your money.” Not going to help after I drove 35 minutes with a full pickup truck dragging a trailer. Found the Montanus Self Storage in Culpeper, VA, with clean 10x20 units for the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Cube Smart as a place to store your items.

When I stopped by to get some information on storage, the ladies in the office were very nice and able to answer all of my questions. They even showed me a few different units so I could compare sizes. The lot appeared very clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend using them!

The space and the good service

Moved in only to realize the roof was damaged and had move all my things in to another unit that had no inner ceiling. Not at all happy with the state of either unit and when my concerns were voiced they were only laughed off. My entire house hold is now at the mercy of a storage facility that could not care less about the condition of their units.

Joey was super nice, helpful and made my fiancé and I’s first storage unit really easy.

Hidden fees. Insurance should be optional not mandatory. Minimum insurance is $12/month which is ridiculous for a 5X10 storage unit used for non furniture items.

The space is just what I needed yet I did encounter a couple of things hence the reason for 4 stars: 1) Light bulb was burnt out and was told I WOULD have to stop by the office to pickup a bulb & I WOULD have to replace. Even though my unit is an offsite location away from office and there is a bulb cage that has to be removed to replace the bulb ~ I am not going to do it on principal. 2) The rate is was lead to believe was an online rate discount ~ it is only temporary. There is 2 options ~ One month free rent OR 3 months at a reduced price. I know this is a BONUS to receive but I felt the online experience to reserve the unit should have made it clear that this is a promotion (I will relent some here that maybe I did not see those terms but I do not recall understanding only temporary). 3) I have rented many storage spaces over the years and have never had to provide a documentation page for STORAGE INSURANCE or for $2,000 coverage pay an additional $12/month. This is my belongings and I should HAVE the right to DECLINE this insurance! I see this as a way to boost their profit and exposure for insuring the property. I "would presume" that MAKING everyone purchase this coverage they benefit from lower overall insurance rates for the property and unit coverage. Let's be real here ~ why do I need insurance for my belongings that are in a weather tight unit and nothing is flammable in my unit?? A thought to ponder ... So I will see how my first 3 months go and decide if I am going to move my things to another company and have a longer relationship at my current location. TBD

So I accidentally got the door on my storage unit stuck and was afraid I would have to pay someone to open it. A sweet young lady, Aonjae, who was in the office that day came with me to try to open it and when she couldn't get it open she said that the maintenance person, Joey could get it open. I was afraid that a chair which was blocking the door would get broken but Joey not only got the door open but he also did not break the chair! Excellent service from both of these fine people!

The staff is amazing. I get board sometimes since I just moved to Culpeper and they let me stay and talk when I make pay my bill. They are also very understanding the times we have had late payments. They did tell us when we moved in the gates would be locked and we have driven by late at night and found the gates locked open. The manager want aware of this and said he would take care of it

Had a great experience! In an emergency needing storage space, we barely made it before closing... Connie Critchfield and Jazmyn Duguid stayed after hours to help us find the right size storage bin and for a great price! And they are very nice wonderful people! Highly reccomended :D

The Store Manager, Cindi Barbare, is who you want to work with! We rented our unit bad in 2014, have had some questions over the years, and Cindy is always there to answer the phone, provide quick professional service, and have a great attitude.

My experience with Cubesmart has just been ok so far. Having never rented a storage unit before, it would have been nice to have a little more guidance. When I made my reservation online, a nice young lady called me to confirm it and that was great. She went into no detail whatsoever. It wasn't until I actually got to the office (which was NOT the address on my confirmation, it was closed down and redirected me to another address down the street) that I found out that I should have brought a lock with me, my homeowners insurance policy and also that my storage unit wasn't anywhere near where I chose it to be. She said I had no choice but to sign up for their insurance and if I wanted to put it on my own policy, I had to bring a copy by the office-can't fax it, can't email it, have to bring it by in person. Also, my confirmation had an address on Germanna Highway. I chose that spot for a particular reason. They were nice units and it was centrally located to where we will be moving and there was an office attached so I knew my stuff would be watched over for the most part. Nope, I was told that my unit was on the other side of town off of Brandy Rd next to some old building. The person kept reminding me "I don't make the rules". So, ok, I'm trying to be easy going. We drive out to our unit and the place is pretty run down, no office there, so no supervision of the units whatsoever and they are very old units. Of course all I need is four walls, so I'm trying to be flexible. The price seems great and I love the first month free. Just would have been nice to know what to expect, that's all. The confirmation email or call we receive should state all of these things: you need a lock, you need insurance and your unit may not be at the location you picked. Obviously storage location is very important to those of us who are moving. But at that point, I needed a unit, so I was stuck with what they gave me.

Awesome customer service; Awesome special 1st month free would have given 10 stars!!!
