Amazing place to store your belongings. Security is good. Cameras everywhere. Just wish it was 24 hours. Prices are okay. Wish the rates didnt move around or I would stay longer. But im still happy here for now. Still would rate 5 stars. An gotta watch out if you have a lead foot new enforcement cameras going into middletown Connecticut could hurt your pockets when coming out of here. Watch your speed 2 cameras as your coming into middletown and leaving. They are well placed in front of sagamore butts. Nick name if you know you know.

I will do my best to share the positive experience had with CubeSmart, both at the corporate level and local store level. The top-notch customer service Ed and Joe, the managers at the local CubeSmart in Middlefield Connecticut is refreshing and is what’s missing these days with because of automation and AI! When will big business realize that it’s all about real life customer service, not the elimination of humans. These robots that are running big business these days, meaning lazy CEO’s, don’t get it! They opt for minimal expense reduction by eliminating humans in favor of technology, believing that it goes right to their bottom lines, however, the greater correlation really isn’t a positive correlation overall. What big businesses fails to see is the loss of bigger individual sales, for speed and expense reduction with the use of AI bots, versus real human beings. Personally, I tend to spend more money with a company when a live person is involved and explains to me the services and shows me the value of their services… CubeSmart clearly understands this, hence why they have the best customer service, you experience a live person not automation! You will not be disappointed with this business!

Meh... Was going to rent a small space for a few months while I sold some unused things. Between the setup, lock, and "protection" charges that aren't disclosed until contract signing, the price almost doubled. I found some other places to stash the stuff, all of which is already covered by my homeowner's policy so I don't need mandatory "protection". This place is probably fine as a last resort, but check FB Marketplace and Craigslist before you sign.

My experience with this CubeSmart location and specifically the manager Joel has been amazing. The facility is extremely clean, secure and in extremely convenient location. But more importantly, the treatment and professionalism I've been treated with from Joel has made what can normally be a stressful situation into a completely seamless process that I've been made to feel extremely comfortable and treated with nothing but kindness and respect since I've been here. I couldn't be more impressed with him and cubesmart is very lucky to have such a gentleman running this location and can only hope this is the standard for your other locations. Several months after CubeSmart took over ownership of the storage units at 129 Meriden Rd, Middlefield, CT we discovered mold on the items in our "Climate Controlled" storage unit. The manager could care less and the insurance we paid for denied our claim because they don't cover mold. CubeSmart also removed the rodent traps that were in place at the entrances to the facility. CubeSmart could care less that there was mold. The "Climate Controlled" units aren't climate controlled. Nothing is done to control humidity. They are only temperature controlled. I guess they don't know the definition of climate controlled. hint: it includes controlling humidity as well as temperature. I would stay away from any triage facility owned by CubeSmart.

CubeSmart Self Storage, Middlefield. Joelle and Ed were incredibly friendly and helpful. In addition, the entire facility is immaculate, and the price was better than anywhere else, including places with inferior facilities, inferior security. I went to the CubeSmart on Newfield Street in Middletown first, and the folks there were great also, but suggested that I go to the Middlefield location where it would be easier for a semi truck to maneuver.

I left CubeSmart because of their unrealistic price increases and failure to provide any price incentives for long-term rentals. Additionally the climate control unit was so poorly controlled that I lost over $1,000 worth of items due to mildew in the period of time that I stored my items there. I would not recommend this company to anybody however the one thing I can say is that the people in the facility were very nice to deal with but nice people does not overcome very very poor corporate policies.

I’d rate zero stars if I could. They increased their rate by almost double with no notice. We had no access to our unit for two weeks because they were having issues with their gates that they never made their customers aware of. We never had any issues with the previous company but it’s been constant headaches since cubesmart took over, they are always adding fees and increasing rent, the customer service is deplorable at best. $300 a month for a tiny box that is hit or miss if you even have access to is robbery. On top of all of this they couldn’t even get our mailing address right to send their new policies (they claim that this was the previous company’s fault- which is impossible because we never had any issue with the previous ownership). The biggest mistake I’ve ever made is believing that cube smart was an upstanding business. They are now threatening to sell my family heirlooms because of their own misdoings and incompetence for basic office work like sending mail and correspondence. This is theft and coercion in its clearest form, no notice of any increases, no notice of any changes in policy, never signed any contract with this new company and yet they threaten me to pay ridiculous amounts of money I never agreed to. I never signed any legal contract with this company agreeing to these rates or policies. They are thieves, save yourself the stress and go with an honest company that would charge transparently and appropriately, and can at least treat customers fairly and send mail to their actual address. They called on a holiday at 5pm, they were incredibly rude and unprofessional. Absolutely disgusting behavior from a company.

Got a storage unit here and things were great. Then cubesmart bought this location and made everything complicated. And then after making this place terrible they wanted to bump my rent up $60. If i could rate them no stars i would. But save yourself the trouble of dealing with cubesmart and go somewhere else.
