The prices are ridiculous and they are constantly changing the price, making it more expensive, the insurance rate is ridiculous, that price was increased. The gate doesn't work, and the doors don't lock. I'm only giving one star, because you can't leave 0 stars.

I have been here about six months and have had multiple bad experiences. The location is next to a pond or a flood plain of some kind and floods. There was a large crack in the foundation of my unit that appeared about 4 months in that was not there previously. They gave me a can of spray foam and basically had me fix it myself, because whomever works there couldn't access the crack and I did not want spray foam all over my belongings. The security system for the building also basically does not exist. The gate does not work, and you don't need a code. Basically the only thing shielding your stuff from the public is your unit lock. Now, they've randomly raised my rental fee significantly for absolutely no reason. I am actively looking for an alternative storage unit because this location does not care.

It was an easy process and Lora was so polite and helpful. She went above and beyond. After I left, she noticed I didn’t lock it correctly. Knowing I was coming back with one more load she watched for me so she could show me the right way to lock it. The facility is clean and well lit.

I Don want to get pushy because my stuff is still there but the experience i have with them is all bad they charge me every month a lein fee of 120 dollars when i was sick but they Don't care i was only 1 month late and i was sending someone in last month with some money they said no we are charging you a lein fee so now they want to take it to auction so even with covid I'm going in to pay them my brother passed away unexpected at home and they didn't care about that either I'm still having trouble with it i found him i have pic i should post here so they can see what i saw the general manager isn't no help either she knows I'll be there well i guess i am sick or not oh and they raised there price over 40 dollars a month and charging almost 30 dollars for insurance what is that what does that insurance cover i want to know what the insurance covers i never seen a business run this way ever you know i have done business with storage king they are awesome and i did business with the other place up the street they are great to

EDITED TO ADD: Thank you, Owner, for the boilerplate response. I should have noted in my original review that I had in fact already contacted the store manager, who confirmed that CubeSmart can and will increase my monthly rate at any time (with 30 days advance notice) and by any amount. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I rented a 5x5 unit at the Windham CubeSmart for a college student's belongings for the summer of 2023. The location was satisfactory for me, and I was happy enough with the experience that I came back for the summer of 2024. When I rented a 5x5 unit for the summer of 2024, I found the manager, Mona, to be helpful in setting up the contract, in spite of the yo-yoing introductory rates created by the online algorithms. I understood that my contract included a clause that CubeSmart can modify the terms of the agreement - including rent - with 30 days advance notice. I further understood the implicit message: that because my rate could be increased, it would be increased. However, I did not expect that after 5 months, my rate would increase from $54/month to $87/month (a 61% increase). Of course it's impossible to know how many more times the rate may increase over the next year - or by how much. The contract provides zero limitations on the number of price increases and zero limitations on the amount of each increase; CubeSmart has the upperhand and there's no incentive for them to change their contract to put limitations in place. I'm completely at the mercy of CubeSmart and bracing myself for the worst.

A horrible place to store things if you care about your belongings. You’ll pay for a secure building that does not have security-anyone can walk in off the street. While the store staff is lovely, your belongings will be ruined because the district manager will not do essential repairs. Inside units get flooded when it rains . Store staff is lovely yet powerless to get repairs done. District managers attitude is “ you can leave”. -

Gates always open, no code needed to enter, doors dont work, door codes dont work to open doors, but you can push doors open. Place is never secure. I cant allow my family to go alone here because of the characters often running around there. USER BEWARE!

This is my first time renting a storage unit by myself, and my experience was wonderful. A woman named Mona helped me, and she was very nice and personable. She was able to answer all of the questions I had, and was capable of informing me with all the information I was seeking. Highly recommend renting a space at the CubeSmart in North Windham, CT. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked into the door! Definitely will continue my services here if I ever need another one later on.

Mona was great!! I had to do everything over the phone/text, since I do not reside in CT. Mona was just fantastic answering all my questions and offering great customer service. I would say she went above and beyond. The reason for my 4 star is not to do with Mona, she is definitely a 5 Star. I did all my paperwork online and the online system did not have an option to upload my renters insurance declaration. I looked everywhere to find a way to opt out of that charge. I was disappointed to have to pay extra insurance. It would be great to have the option to load our insurance declarations and mot have to pay extra for something we already have. I hope Cubesmart will change this soon.

Mona was extremely helpful in helping me decide what size and if an indoor/outdoor unit would work for my needs. She was so patient with me and was able to answer all of my questions (even the silly ones). As for the units, I chose to rent a climate controlled unit and I believe it's going to be perfect for my storage needs. The unit was very clean and ready for use immediately.

Price experience was very poor. My rental was raised twice within a 4 month period, starting at $160.00 raised to $260.00 and ending at $300.00 I spent less than 12 months with them. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

$190/mo for a 5'x10' is absurd. Rate kept increasing ever 3-4months, even when i didnt have access to unit for 2months. Gate was always left open and door for the building didnt require a pin code to enter.

Great facility but ultra expensive. After just one and one half year rates went up regularly and were about $40 more a month than when I signed up. Nearly $100 a month for a 5x5 closet sized space! You can do better, Cube Smart, thank enticing people in with "lower rates" and then raising them bit by bit, fairly quickly...

It was easy to sign up for and I was happy with the Lady that showed me around. I may have limited access time until the gate is repaired but I am okay with that. The gate is fixed. I found that I needed a bigger unit once I started moving things in.I was able to get a bigger unit the next day and had even moved over in less than an hour. The new unit was close to my old unit. I am very satisfied with the service that I received.
