Renting your storage unit with SmartRental is as easy as 1-2-3:

SmartRental FAQ's

Can I rent my space now and move in later?

Yes. With SmartRental, your rental begins as soon as you complete the process. That means your unit will be ready whenever you are ready to move in.

If you’d prefer to start your rental later, simply reserve your space so that we can set it aside for you – no need to complete the agreement until you’re ready to move in. Then, you can finalize your rental in person at our office or online.

How will I access my unit?

After you complete your SmartRental, we will provide you with a personal access code for the keypad located at the storage area entrance. Your unit will be secured with a tamper-resistant seal. Inside your unit, you will find a copy of your lease and helpful information about your facility, as well as your lock. Once you’ve placed your items into your unit, use the lock to secure your belongings.

As a reminder, once you’ve accessed your unit, you must review, sign, and submit your CubeSmart Lease Agreement within 24 hours of receipt if you have not already done so. Otherwise, your access to the property may be revoked until the Lease Agreement is signed. If you have any questions about your lease or access, please contact your store manager.

What should I expect to pay when I choose to rent online?

Our SmartRental system is set up to be entirely transparent so you understand what you’re paying for. Our rentals are offered month-to-month, so you will pay for your first month of rent as well as a one-time administrative fee. If you chose a unit with a “first month free” promotion, the administrative fee still applies. We also require that online renters purchase our monthly protection plan and a lock.

Do I need to bring my own lock?

When you use SmartRental to rent your storage unit, a high-quality, secure lock is included and will be inside your unit waiting for you. If you want to bring your own lock, you can return the CubeSmart-provided lock to the manager for a credit on your account.
