I came to CubeSmart in Long Island City as a new customer, expecting a smooth and professional experience. What I got instead was one of the worst customer service interactions I’ve ever had – from the general manager no less. She spoke to me with zero respect – no greeting, no “thank you,” not even basic decency. Instead, she talked to me like I was stupid or personally inconveniencing her for daring to ask questions about how their system works. The tone was condescending, dismissive, and frankly unprofessional. It felt like I was being punished just for being there. If this is how they treat people at the very beginning of the customer relationship, I can’t imagine how bad it gets later. I already want to cancel and take my business somewhere else. There are plenty of storage options in NYC – don’t waste your time or money here just to be treated like garbage. Think twice before renting here. No one should pay to be disrespected like this.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had such a great experience with this storage facility that I felt like I had to share. A friend of mine has been using this place for a while and has always spoken really highly of it, so when I found myself needing a storage unit, I already knew this was a place I wanted to check out. From the moment I walked into the office, I could tell the staff here was friendly and professional. I had seen they were running a great promotion, so I asked about it in the store, and Carlos was the one who helped me. He was absolutely fantastic. Even though it was right before they were about to close, Carlos went out of his way to accommodate me. He stayed late just to walk me through the facility, and show me a few different unit options. He made sure I understood the promotion, explained all the details clearly, and never once made me feel rushed—even though I know he was staying past his shift. He personally helped me get everything set up that same evening, which saved me a ton of time and stress. His level of service was above and beyond—he was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I had a smooth experience. The facility itself is clean, secure, and easy to access, and now having gone through the process myself, I completely understand why my friend recommended it so strongly. If you’re looking for a storage place that’s reliable, well-managed, and actually treats you like a valued customer, this is it. And if you can, ask for Carlos—he’s the best!

Dimas walked us through the process n was patient, thorough, clear, had a grt attitude n knows his stuff. Please give the man a raise. When storage is this $$$, you can pick n choose the best rates, but customer service has to be right up there too. I hope this place only hires ppl like Dimas.

I cannot recommend this storage facility due to pricing and communication issues. While the location is well-maintained and the staff is friendly, I was promised a fixed rate for six months with advance notice of any increases. However, my rent was raised at 4 months and again at 5 months, with no prior notice. Despite my attempts to clarify, management has not resolved the issue. The lack of transparency overshadows the facility's positives.

There was no sign indicating the delay, and no one answered the phone. This type of business needs to be dependable, especially when time is tight during a move. I reserved a 5x11 unit the night before I needed it. At this time, this location had the best offerings. Moving is already stressful enough & I didn't have a valid ID to complete my reservation. I called the store directly to speak to someone as I was very stressed (day of move out) and spoke with Mary Lou. She was one of the most helpful associate I have encountered with. She was so pleasant to speak with on the phone and almost immediately relieved my stress. You can tell she was really trying to help which is such a rewarding feeling. When I came into the store, she was almost about done with her shift but stood until I was done completing my reservation. Jensy, was super helpful as well. This was my first time reserving a unit and was debating if I needed a bigger sized unit. He gracefully asked if I would like to see the unit I originally reserved for and showed me another unit that was bigger. I ended up with a bigger unit and it was the best choice I made. He was very personable with such positive attitude. The store is so clean and almost every customer that came in, they knew and treated them like family. Overall, Jensy & Mary Lou are the DREAM TEAM. Love the pricing. Very quick to rent out process was fast. MaryLou helped me so much because it was my first time getting storage she was beyond pleasant and patient with me she showed me around how to use the elevator how to access my storage room. Just pleasant overall and a plus the place smells amazing and its very clean.
