My 3rd story indoor unit was broken into. Someone used a crowbar to bend the metal door slide with the lock still on. The front door to the building was smashed down. I never received a notification from the storage facility letting me know the building had been compromised. The workers stated they have no way to send out a mass notification and handle things on a case by case basis. I am the first one to report anything stolen. I imagine there are others who don't know. Do not store your valuable items here. My grandfathers watch will never be replaced. The workers are too far removed from upper management to care. Please go somewhere else.

The elevators are consistently broken at this location. At least for 4 months (at least) last year and now again today. (This is in addition to the broken doors that remained unrepaired for weeks last year causing a serious security risk). There is no way to access the 2nd floor via the main building - and there is nobody in the office to assist. There is a QR code that is supose to connect you to someone to speak with - but that doesn't work either.

I rented a unit at CubeSmart for two years, and my experience was deeply disappointing. The intercom in the annex building never worked, making it difficult to reach staff—who were often unavailable. In February, I visited my unit for the first time in six months to find that the sliding doors to the building were broken, creating a serious security risk. Because the intercom was still inoperable, I had to call the main number from my cell phone and wait on hold for several minutes, only to be told the doors had been broken for weeks. Staff advised me to simply pull the doors open. At no point did CubeSmart inform renters that their units were vulnerable or that unauthorized individuals could have accessed the building. This complete lack of communication and security is unacceptable, especially given that CubeSmart charges DOUBLE the price of its competitors. Despite their premium rates, they offer no incentives for loyal customers to stay. I have moved on to a more secure, better priced, better rated, and better managed storage facility just ten minutes away.

I’ve had this facility since 2022. In the summer of 2023 the power went out and I could not access the building except through the emergency exit which had to be propped open. There were no elevators which made any type of movement of difficult. This lasted for approximately a week. They never offered a refund. In addition, I’ve just gone and here we are 18 months later and I can’t get access into the building unless they show up to open the entire building for me. This is another example of them again, not offering a refund. Not worth it please stay away

Had no issues. Was able to get a storage the same day. Very secured! You need to enter your access code before entering the property and exiting. You also have to enter your code to get inside the building and to access the elevator. The only issue I have, my unit area didn't have enough lighting

Was probably once a very nice facility but now the outside is always cluttered with trash, the carpets are never vacuumed, the bathroom is only cleaned upon request and is absolutely filthy. I’ve even witnessed large flying cockroaches in the hallway. Meanwhile management is usually just sitting at the front desk on their phone or walking around outside seemingly avoiding the trash piles, lol. My personal favorite is the razor blades on the ground.

After storing my belongings at this location for two years at considerable expense, I moved out recently only to find tons of mouse droppings and the corpses of three mice in my unit. The staff member I spoke with said that he would file a incident report and that I should look to the insurance policy I purchased from Cubesmart to get compensated for any damage to my property. He even mentioned that management at this location had been changed a year ago because they weren't doing proper pest control. I filed my claim, only to find out that Cubesmart's "protection" doesn't cover rodent damage of any kind. So I'm left picking up the cost of professionally cleaning my damaged upholstered furniture. I think it is completely unacceptable behavior for a company to claim to provide clean, controlled environments for the storage of belongings and then provide no compensation whatsoever to renters when they fail to live up to that promise.

Convenient. Not inexpensive, but nothing is in the area. The mobile app is very helpful and made access very easy. There were often times when an elevator was out or an access door was broken, but in general the unit is secure and we had absolutely no issues. I would recommend for short term storage without a dout.

I did not receive a lock when I acquired a storage unit, as in the lock in the bag they leave for you in the storage unit did not have a lock in it. When going about getting a lock fee refund, they had to mail a check and even though the clerk said he issued it to the correct address, it turns out it was sent to the wrong address. I had to call about it multiple times. I was told I was going to get feedback by the end of business multiple times but that never happened. I even went in person to have the check re-issued for the lock fee which again, I did not receive a lock, and then when I called again to ensure it was in the process of being sent to the correct address, I could not get a confirmation/receipt/tracking number. Overall just a mess and unprofessional. It's not about the 19.92. It's about the principle. This was a test and you guys failed miserably. Show some damn respect.

I have never had a worse experience than being at this storage facility. After repeatedly asking for assistance and getting empty promises, I’m here to share my experience and hopefully get any type of support! The first issue is that this facility increases the price significantly 6 to 8 months after you move in. There is no cap to this and it’s just greed with these prices! The second issue is the fact that it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been with the company they will continue to increase your prices. As I was told by this terrible property manager named Zach, the storage facility isn’t supposed to be a marriage. It’s supposed to be temporary. Why would you encourage somebody to leave and lose revenue?! Business strategy and his treatment of people needs to be reevaluated because his Customer Service is also piss poor to put it nicely. The third issue and the more recent issue is that I paid a full year in advance due to the gouging of prices that they love to do at this establishment. I also paid to have 24 hours service because My availability doesn’t always match with business hours. I deliberately changed the access code to something more memorable and shorter! I did that with the other gentleman that works at this property. He just graduated high school. I returned to this property when I was available multiple times and I could not get in! Why? Because someone went behind me and the other gentleman that assisted me and changed my Code! CODES DON’T CHANGE THEMSELVES! I asked what compensation I would get for having had my access interrupted for two months and I was told I would get a call to talk about accommodations and discounts that could be provided because yes, I should receive some type of money back for not being able to fully utilize my Storage unit! IM STILL WAITING ON THAT CALL! At this facility, you are just a number. Nothing matters more than their bottom line and though I understand from a business perspective, if your business model is trash, there will be no flourishing! Don’t treat people like they’re replaceable. LEAD With Customer Service or at least have thorough knowledge without having to poke out your chest, ZACH, that way you keep 100% occupancy! These children running this establishment are led by ego and I’m exhausted! They have no regard for hard work because apparently money just falls from the sky. I paid THOUSANDS on a storage unit and I can’t even get a call back?!? Proceed with caution. This place is convenient and because they know this, they treat you like they’re doing you a favor by existing. Not acknowledging the fact that without the customer there is no them! I genuinely hate how I’m treated by the people at this company. Good luck.

I had a rented spot for my light duty pick up. I was assigned a spot next to big box trucks and around industrial equipment, which seemed odd to me. Eventually my vehicle was backed into and 3000 dollars worth of damage done! When i involved management there was nothing they could do because i didnt buy there insurance! But the unprofessionalism and quirky smirky remarks of the manager Zach was definitely eneough for me to write this review! The place is a dump and there id trash all over the facility! And also have seen hypodermic needled in multiple spots on the property! 1 time I witnessed an employee attempting to pick up the trash on the property and simply dispose if it by throwing trash over the fence to a neighboring property. Unreal. Bad experience never again would i go.. nor would i recommend! Shop around !

Elevator is down. Why use a storage facility if you have to hoof it up the stairs? Ended up paying twice as much for the time for the movers and had to throw away a piece of furniture. Also, a huge air vent is taking up 15% of the storage unit with no discount, even though you pay for space based on unit dimensions.

I was with cube smart for 4 years. In that time, the price increases almost $200 and the customer service got worse. When I called to see if there was anything they could do, I was told the best they could do was $20 off. If this is how you treat loyal customers, then there is no reason to stay loyal. I found a cleaner facility in the area where I got a larger unit for significantly less, they have much better lighting, no insects or other pests, and no major price increases. Was a no brainer, we moved out in less than 4 hours.

At first it was great, the location was easy for me to access from my home. The storage unit was clean. Then four months in my rent increased by 85%. That was enough for me. I moved my items into a unit in my apartment building, the same size unit, and save $$$ in storage fees and saved gas. The only reason why I went with outside storage was because my apartment building did not have the size storage unit available.

If you have belongings here you should check on them immediately… cleaned out our storage unit this past Saturday. Everything was covered in rodent excrement and urine. Told the staff about the damages, and asked if there are health inspections that take place. The manager said because it’s not a restaurant there’s no health code to follow, and that it’s considered temperature controlled if the temp is less than 80F! Do you know what temperature rodents like to live at? 65-75 degrees F. Thousands of dollars of furniture, and memories, destroyed. Take your belongings somewhere that keeps it clean and cold. Update 9/29: Their insurance policy also conveniently doesn’t cover rodent damages!

In that time I have had to throw away a large amount of my items from being ruined by this location. Meanwhile I have not been compensated in any way and no help from the management. Mice on all floors. Understaffed. Raised my rent by $100/month so I would move. They have raised the rate again for whoever will be foolish enough to rent from them after I vacate. I was renting a 10x30 for about $515/mo, new renters will pay close to $700/mo. Management is poor and not communicative. Very disappointed. CubeSmart replied to my email and asked me for my information. I have not been contacted further........ I change nothing from above. I will add that my old unit has not been re-rented yet.....can't imagine why.

The buildings are infested with rodents. I had a unit on the 1st floor in the main building and a unit on the 3rd floor in the adjacent building. Several items had to be thrown in the trash. I have had a unit here for more than 6 months. 3/5 times that I needed to access my unit during what are advertised as open and access hours the unit was inexplicably closed. Management did not notify me that my unit was not going to be accessible or that they were having problems with the entry. I needed to access my unit for a move (had rented a truck and everything) and was not able to get help until the next day during their office hours. Same thing happened again a week late but this time there was a sign on the door of the building. No notification email or app alert that units were unaccesible and closed on Sundays without explanation. I do not recommend this cubesmart location.

I liked how easy it was to get my cube set up. I liked the security of the facility as well. Also, I mistakenly left my cube unlocked. The store employees called, left a message on my voicemail and emailed me to let me know. I really appreciated the urgency, and it was reassuring to know that they’re doing checks in the facility to ensure customer’s items are secure.

Horrific and extensive rodent damage. I’m active military and I returned to my unit after a two year absence to find my belongings destroyed by rodents. Droppings everywhere, boxes chewed up, furniture and bags stained, evidence that rodents had nested and burrowed in my unit. The management said they had received reports of this “a while ago” on several other units but the issue went away. Well I was never informed, and whichever units the rodents got chased away from they all clearly went into mine. Since uncovering this issue the management has comped me 3 months of storage, additional actions “pending assessment of damage,” but since that conversation has been frustratingly slow to respond. If you store here be prepared to do your own pest control, and be prepared to be proactive in chasing down correspondence from management.

My husband and I came in to this location to park one of our work vehicles and were greeted by Daniel K. he demonstrated what true customer service is. He went above and beyond in making sure we were well informed, happy, and appreciated (for choosing that location) the whole way through. Daniel did not have any help with him and it did get rather busy and overwhelming with customers coming in with numerous requests but I watched as he handled each concern with the highest level of quality possible. The owners of this store should be very pleased with him, he truly deserves a raise and is the only reason we will continue doing business at this location.

I’ve used a few other storage companies because they seemed more cost effective, but the lack of staffing and constant elevator outages and the dirty facilities made the experience miserable. By comparison Cube Smart has been reliably open when needed, always clean and never a broken elevator!

I recently had to move my storage to a location closer to me and CubeSmart was it. They offered me the same size space for less money than I was paying. I was treated very well and I was very pleased with the space I was offered in this new facility. The only concern I have is that I have books and important documentation amongst my items and the sprinkler above every unit concerns me. I will ask if there are any solutions to this concern.

Just eww! Haven’t checked my unit for awhile and this happened today. Eventhough all the boxes were scotch taped, rats got thru in. Full of rat poop and also thanks for “keeping the storage safe, pest free and not ruining my stuffs”!!! Moving out immediately! Never had this problem with other Cube smart storages. Excellent customer service! I reserved my unit online without any issues. I received a follow-up call from an agent at the rental location who was very helpful in answering some additional questions I had. Prior to effecting my storage unit lease, I visited the property to inspect my unit and found everything to be exactly as it should be. As the COVID-19 pandemic is still a factor, I want to say how impressed I was with the "no-contact" handling of my storage unit rental. Access to the building was controlled, even for the office area. The agent on duty at the time wore a mask at all times and sanitized his hands appropriately. I appreciated that COVID precautions were actually more robust that what you typically encounter in the supermarket. All-in-all, a very positive experience so far.

The management of Shirlington's CubeSmart is excellent. They are courteous and responsive. The space is well-lit, spotless and the rules about masks are clear and enforced in the time of COVID-19. I had been a customer for a year and when I mentioned in passing that I wanted a smaller unit, the manager kept that in mind and made sure I knew about an opening on my floor. The switch came just before a rate increase on my larger unit. So, I am meeting my storage needs for less, thank you!

I've notice the explosion of CubeSmart storage facilities in both the Philadelphia and Washington, DC metro areas. The company, I believe, is headquartered near where I live in Malvern, PA. Being in the process of both relocating to northern VA and helping my Army son find a new place, we noticed a CubeSmart within 1.5 miles of our Arlington condo. Going online to reserve a space (without making a deposit), discovering it was climate controlled (important) and seeing a deeply discounted (not free, as they advertise) use of a small moving van available made it ideal. Not inexpensive, at least for a 10x10, but the reservation, confirmation, and moving process was all first rate. I've used storage places before, and this was by far the best customer service and cleanest facility I've found. The accessibility and security are very good (not 24/7 but 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. is plenty adequate). Endorsed!

Personally saw a rat inside my unit after visiting after 8 months, in addition to lots of rat droppings. Extremely frustrating, as I had been expecting a generally clean facility with robust pest control if required, after moving out of a pest-free 18th floor apartment. Am simply storing furniture, electronics, clothing and kitchenware inside the unit. Additionally, local or regional management failed to reply to my inquiry as promised, and had to leave the state to return to work. I am still left wondering what will be done to remedy the situation. The idea of rats rummaging through all my boxes and items sucks, to say the least. To top it off, prices have increased across the board as well. If I had any indication that this storage facility had pest issues, I would have never rented this storage unit.

I've had storage units for years and my experience at this location was the easiest I've ever had. It was towards the end of the day when I called and the manager, Mr. Monté Jones, had everything ready to go when I arrived which made getting signed up a breeze. One of the pet peeves I have about storage facilities is not having push carts available and this location has plenty and they are all in very good shape. The facility itself was very clean and had some great music going which helped with unloading. As a cherry on top, while I was at the water fountain a staff member (Mr. Chamberlain Brown) noticed and went out of his way to grab me a cold bottle of water from their break room. I couldn't be happier with my experience.

I walked into Cube Smart on April 2nd to ask the Manager, Chamberlain Brown, if he would help me obtain a smaller storage unit than I originally rented. He was very helpful and put my mind at ease instantly by going to my storage unit immediately 2 assess the situation. Once there, he realized the size unit I could use (smaller), located the only one left, &: engaged 2 movers to move the furniture pieces from the larger unit 2 the smaller one. It took hardly any time at all and everything was relocated. Chamberlain not only demonstrated the utmost professionalism in handling this change for me, but he was also friendly, courteous, knowledgable, efficient and showed respect to me, the customer, at all times. Kylon (Manager) made this very easy. He willingly showed me several size options. He whipped through the sign up process in about 3 minutes and he had the CS loaner truck reserved for my preferred dates. The facility is new, modern with efficient mechanicals; HVAC and elevators. I didn’t love the idea of being on an upper floor but in practice it’s no problem and now I prefer to be off the ground level.

I was unsure of what size unit to get so I toured the unit the day before I actually made a reservation. I was helped by a nice woman who gave me all the information I needed and assured me that I was selecting the right unit. She encouraged me to book online and I did just that. They had my size available which was great since I needed this last minute. I came in the next day and was greeted by the same woman who then showed to to my unit and gave me a pin to have access to the building. The process on both occasions took only 30 minutes combined. I am very pleased with the pricing, service and overall storage. Thank you for helping me get a bit with such a time crunch.

We walked into the storage facility without a reservation, and they very patiently walked us through our options, and helped us reserve a storage space that day. The facility is clean, climate controlled, you can access from 6am - 10pm daily, there are plenty of carts available to move things in and out, and there is elevator access to move things to upper floors. Additionally - the benefit of being able to reserve and use their truck for moving things is what convinced us to use this facility!

Excellent Storage facility with great customer service. I had a unique situation in which a furniture delivery was coming from down south and I zero knowledge of how large the boxes were. I was unsure if I needed the largest unit Cubesmart had or the smallest. I informed the associate of my situation and she researched two empty units near each other, both different sizes, so that when my delivery arrived I knew which floor to go to and could choose which unit suits my needs. I now have 2 storage units here (one I've had for a few years) and will continue to use their services.

Highly professional staff in a brand new facility. The staff at this location are all incredibly friendly and made our otherwise stressful moving experience a breeze. We reserved our unit online ahead of time and when we arrived on moving day, the staff helped us reevaluate the amount of storage needed for all of our things. They were careful in explaining each charge for the total cost and made us extremely comfortable with what we paid. The accessible loading dock, huge elevators, and surplus of dollies made the two person moving job of getting everything from the truck and into the 3rd floor unit super easy. They even have a free moving truck for their customers! Would absolutely recommend!

We had an excellent experience with CubeSmart! We only needed storage for 1 week because our leases didn't overlap. Because the first month was free, we only ended up paying about $40 for administrative costs and a lock. The price was so good, I almost felt bad about it. We were processed by Jumanah, who was extremely helpful. She could answer all of my questions, and provided customer service above and beyond what I'd hoped for! The unit and premises were clean, safe, secure, and climate controlled. It was easy to load and unload from truck to unit and back. Not sure what else to say, 100% recommend CubeSmart to anyone with storage needs!

I can't say enough great things about this place. When you leave your valuable possession in someone else's hands, all you want is for the place to be clean and secure. This place is spotless and they monitor the units constantly. In fact one time when I managed to put the lock on incorrectly, they called within a matter of hours to explain to us that I had left the unit unlocked and that they had secured it for me. The move in and move out process was easy as well, even as I had an 18-wheeler pull up for the latter move. I highly recommend CubeSmart in Shirlington to anyone in the market for a storage unit.

I went to four different storage companies and the last place I went to ended up being the best.I recently rented a large inside unit from this CubeSmart and it was easy and everyone was extremely helpful! CubeSmart is very clean and secure. Everyone has their own personal code to get into the building and the floors have many cameras. My move took three days and I was able to use the company van for a small fee! Its great to have everything you need all in one spot. The staff here is GREAT! My storage unit had a lightbulb that was missing and it was changed within 10 minutes.

The best customer service I've received in a long time! I was in a tight spot with two weeks between houses before I could move into my new one. I wanted a unit that was affordable and convenient and Cubesmart was both! With the first month free, my storage was only 22 dollars (admin fees)! Working with Michael was by far the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. Super friendly guy, always greets you with a smile, offered me assistance on multiple occasions and was really friendly to my movers as well, not just me the paying customer so I know he's sincere. The unit was easy to get to, easy to offload and I load. I never felt unsafe here as a young female at night. Would recommend to my friends in a heartbeat. Thanks for the great experience making my move less stressful!

Very professional and courteous folks man the office -- the storage facility (for household goods as well as for vehicle storage) is in an easily accessible area, and there are at least 3 bus routes that stop 1/2 a block away, should you need public transportation. The various-sized locking storage units are clean, airy, lighted inside, and have sprinklers. The rent is reasonable, on par with any other storage unit's rent in this area. There are security cameras inside and outside, and the office area has space for those who need to conduct business ( I don't know much about this but I think it's like the Fed Ex facilities where you can rent a work- space and do some work on your laptop for your business). Plenty of parking outside, and the area around this facility is landscaped and well maintained.

I probably would have chosen this location simply for the location, but their service will keep me there as long as I need additional room for my stuff. I also love that the facility is brand new... Let's be honest--no matter the reason (transition, too much stuff, home renovation, excess business inventory, etc.), nobody really likes to deal with their stuff in storage--the mere idea is enough to make you feel unsettled, like a hoarder, or even like a failure at organization. Now you ask why should I have a storage there and not at the other places offering storage services in Shirlington? Here are few reasons: 1. Newest building and the closest to i395 2. Applying was in n out. Michael worked it so smoothly yet professionally. Few minutes and I was ready to go with my new keys. that tells you something about the service you gonna get along the way 3. First month free :):):) 4. And that's a good one: when a shipping get there, I don't have to be there myself. The team will just get it for me right into my storage. This is huge because in my business, we get boxes every few days. it was really annoying needing to be at the previous storage every time a shipping arrived and when I missed the shipping, FedEx would just leave it there somewhere and you never know what would happen. 5. 24\7 access. Hi five! ! huge point. no more hit the road to get to storage before 10 p.m. I got this business account and I have 24 hour access. very important. 6. Micheal 7. Do yourself a favor. Booking here was the best part of our move. It was easy to book online, someone from their office called to confirm and I let them know we might actually show up a few days later than the reservation. That was no problem at all. I was greeted by name, and ended up needed a bigger unit than I originally reserved, also not a problem. The manager was so friendly and helpful, the process was quick and the facility is really much nicer than I imagined. It seems very secure and very well maintained.
