This is one of a series of articles spotlighting our storage facilities and neighborhoods.
With good food, fun diversions and events, and fascinating history, Coney Island and the surrounding neighborhoods are packed with social and outdoor entertainment. Settled in the southern tip of Brooklyn, NY, our CubeSmart Coney Island self-storage facility is located on the opposite side of the Coney Island River and just two city blocks from the boardwalk, as the crow flies. If you could get on the roof, you might even be able to see the roller coasters and almost catch the faint aroma of boardwalk favorite foods.
With the huge influx of summer tourists each year, you are sure to have many requests from out-of-town friends and family to couch surf at your place on their visit to Coney Island. You’ll be needing some extra room to accommodate all the visitors. CubeSmart Coney Island on Cropsey Avenue has the additional space you need with nearly 73,000 square feet of self-storage space.
We provide 24-hour video recording, professional shredding, moving and packing supplies, and even a free move-in truck and driver, upon availability. Whether you’re relocating to a new home, making room for summertime guests, or need a place to stow away your beach gear until the summer, this Cropsey Avenue self-storage location has the space, amenities, and help you need. Don’t forget summertime toys like your RV or boat. Long-term parking for RV storage, boat storage, and car storage is also available.
In appreciation of making room for them in your apartment, have your visitors treat you to a quick breakfast or lunch at favorite local hotspot Parkview Diner, just a short walk from our store.
Unique to this Brooklyn location, we make your life easier by accepting deliveries of your items sent straight to our facility. And, if you find you’re going to need a few more hands, we have Penske agents right on the premises so you can rent a moving truck or van without having to make another stop. Our Spanish- and English-speaking teammates are happy to help you make your transition.
Repeat Cropsey Avenue Customer Allan G explains, “The reasons I picked CubeSmart for the third time was because of past experience with excellent customer service, easy access to the storage unit, the fact that you have access to your storage unit every day from 7 am to 9 pm, which for me is very important to have this kind of access, and plenty of carts are available.” And, our recent Customer Reginka wrote, “I love my CubeSmart at Cropsey avenue. Oliver who works there, always greets me with a smile and is always willing to help and go out of his way.”

How to Get to Us
The General Manager of the Coney Island, Brooklyn CubeSmart self-storage facility, Miles Goode, explains that this convenient location is right next to the Home Depot off Cropsey Avenue. The local Stillwell Avenue station services the F and Q trains, and the B82 bus stops at Bay 54th Street. The B82 bus will also take you straight to the Coney Island Boardwalk, which may be convenient if you are picking up or dropping off beach gear. If you’re traveling by car or truck, the store is conveniently located just off the Belt Parkway at Exit 6S.
Around Us
Taking a stroll along the Riegelmann Boardwalk, you will eventually find yourself at Luna Park at Coney Island. Joy-riders and thrill-seekers alike can check these roller coasters on their bucket list. Though your tummy may be reeling after all those rides, those with an iron stomach must stop at Nathan’s Famous for an original Coney Island hot dog. And, you just might catch one of the Whalberg brothers at Whalburgers across the street from Nathan’s Famous.
The museum Coney Island USA can fill an afternoon with exhibits and performances showcasing the history of American pop culture and the circus scene. Locals also love seeing the New York Mets’ minor league team, the Brooklyn Cyclones, play ball at MCU Park. If you’re at Coney Island on any Friday in the summer, stay on the beach past sunset to enjoy a free fireworks show.
Above all the quirks to be experienced at Coney Island, the Mermaid Parade is by far the most unique spectacle to witness. Over 3,000 people walk in elaborately themed mermaid costumes to celebrate mermaids, ancient mythology, art, and pride for the neighborhood. Don’t be shy! Create the best costume and you could even be crowned Queen Mermaid or King Neptune!
Are you a proud resident of Coney Island? We’d love it if you shared some of your favorite things about your neighborhood in the comments section below!
